We got to our suite, unpacked and noticed certain 2 issues with the room.8pm we went to reception who called Gerry, the night manager Very impressed in dealing with the issue to our satisfaction within a few minutes and without quibble. It opened our eyes to look more closely at the hotel. What we found was a genuinely friendly staff, very attentive without imposing on us. An important part for us is the restaurant.Harry bar/restaurant is a wow for us.great food, varied menu. Didnt dissapoint on our 2 night's. Breakfast tasty, no greese.scrambled eggs light fluffy, yummy. Lovely touch is an ice dispenser at the end of our floor and an ice bucket in our room. Absolute hotel,Absolutely lovely 4 minutes walk from city centre

Sharon scored 4 / 5 on 08/12/2015

Had a brilliant stay in a wonderful hotel where all the staff couldn't do enough for us. The dinner was top notch even though the restaurant was full and the brekafast the following day couldn't be faulted. Our room was huge and beautifully decorated. The only reason for giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that we were directly above the banqueting area where a 'Roaring 20's Casino night was in full swing'. We were not in the hotel to attend the party so hearing the band still playing at 1am took a star away. We will stay again - but we will ask for a quiet room on a higher floor.

Daniel scored 5 / 5 on 22/11/2015

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent visit to the Absolute Hotel in Limerick. Only 7 mins walk to centre of city, lovely shops & restaurants. Such fantastic value for money on Lidl breaks... The rooms were large and bright, over looking the river Abbey. Very quiet. Comfy beds... The staff are so friendly & helpful. The food was delicious. We will definitely be back. Thanks to all

The locations was perfect (quiet area within 5 minutes walking distance to O'Connell Street). Hotel is very clean and modern. Bedrooms was spacious and had a good sized bathroom with an excellent shower. Buffet Breakfast was good with plenty to choose from but Coffee could have been better. Staff were extremely pleasant at all times.

Fm scored 4 / 5 on 04/08/2014

Lovely hotel. Got a great deal with Irish Rail Breaks. It is very near the centre of Limerick and close to all the tourist sites. Our room was huge and had a lovely view over the river. The food was fabulous also. The only negative was that the bar/restaurant was very cold as the air conditioning was on, even though the barman said he turned it off. We just brought our drinks outside the bar in the foyer area, so no big deal. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Barbara scored 5 / 5 on 28/07/2014

Excellent standard of service. The hotel is lovely and the rooms are very comfortable.

S scored 4 / 5 on 11/07/2014

Good location with secure parking included. Room Lovely, large, clean, modern and comfortable. Great Shower. Had dinner incl (2 courses + coffee) which was lovely and paid extra for steaks and desert. Very good value. Breakfast a big let down-food cold, not cooked (sausages looked like they were boiled and bacon terrible). Sorry we didnt just have a nicer coffee with a scone in the bar for our breakfast.

John scored 4 / 5 on 09/07/2014

Verg good value. Good location. Very convenient for shopping. Food good. Free secure on site parking.

Reviewer99399918 scored 4 / 5 on 29/06/2014

Hotel is modern rooms are spacious with good decor. Hotel is well located , close to King John's Castle and short walk to city center. Food in restaurant is excellent, particularly generous breakfast selection. Restaurant overlooks river in nice scenic setting. Ideal for a short break or exploring the Limerick Clare counties. I would have no hesitation recommending this hotel. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Bendy scored 4 / 5 on 14/06/2014

Stayed here for 3 nights. the hotel is ideally located by the river and in walking distances of the town and all the city has to offer. A lovely friendly hotel. Food of good quality. The cleanliness is outstanding and choice of complimentary toiletries well replenished and good quality. The only real down side for me was the bed, which I found really uncomfortable, too hard and unforgiving on my back. However, after requesting extra duvets to lie on it was better. these were provided instantly. Other than that the room was bright, quiet and comfortable. Staff mostly friendly and helpful

Niamh scored 5 / 5 on 09/06/2014

Myself and 3 friends stayed on Saturday night 26th Apr as part of a Bargain Breaks.ie offer. I wanted to let you know that we had a fantastic time, the rooms were amazing, every member of staff was friendly, courteous and impeccably professional. Our dinner in the Absolute Bar & Grill was second to none. Everything about The Absolute Hotel exceeded our expectations and we can’t wait to return, Thanks for ensuring our very rare night away was one to remember! I find that people are always quick to complain when there’s a problem and perhaps not as quick to report good service, so I wanted to make sure I let you know how much we enjoyed our stay at The Absolute.

It is nice to visit a 4 star hotel which lives up to a 4 star standard. The Absolute Hotel Limerick goes beyond its 4 star statis, It is a modern well furnished hotel. All staff I came in contact were friendly, efficient and very helpful. The dinner was excellent in quality. presentation and price, very hard to find usually in a city hotel in Ireland. Higly recommend the restaurant/The bedroom was spotless, well designed and all linen spotless, The shower bathroom was of a very high standard also. All in all I would highly recommend this hotel I also received a 10 % disount voucher on my departure for my next visit. I will definitey return,

Richard scored 5 / 5 on 04/03/2014

A most relaxing and enjoyable stay in this modern hotel last weekend.Food excellent and great value. Accommodation spotless, with a lovely comfortable bed. Hotel was busy and the floor we stayed on was quiet at night.Hotel staff very courteous and always with a smile willing to help. Highly recommend this hotel. Had never stayed here before and will certainly be back. Didn't get to the spa as it was booked out. Recommend you book it before you arrive for your break.Very central to Limerick shopping. 10 mins walk. The Doyles

Eddie scored 4 / 5 on 04/03/2014

Fantastic room and in a great location, just a few minutes walk to museums (try the Hunt museum). Breakfast wasn't fantstic (very hard to get a nice breakfast anywhere these days) and we didn't dine in the restaurant in the evening but we would definetly stay again. The deal we got was €80 for 1 night B&B for 2 of us and it was great value.

Brendan scored 5 / 5 on 25/02/2014

HI this was our second time in 3 months staying at the ABSOLUTE Hotel and again it was Absolutely pardon the pun fantastic. It was so nice the first time my brother and his wife joined us and they to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and the really nice staff.I'm not a one for reviews I mean I have good intentions but I normally don't bother. This is an exception though. The hotel is really modern and the rooms are beautiful. We had our evening meal included and it is really top quality food which we enjoyed on both occasions. Also the breakfast is really good and enough of everything to satisfy all tastes. You don't feel rushed if anything they ask alot is everything ok and do you want more of anything.. If I was really picky,The heating was turned up to high and on the Saturday night it was at the stage of been uncomfortable. My wife who normally can't get enough of heat was complaining to.That said I would rather die of the heat than the cold!!!Also we didn't complain to a member of the staff and if we did I'm sure they would have turned it down a notch. Overall it gets a top rating from us.Thanks to al the staff including the reception staff who were very friendly. Regards,Brendan from Waterford

I had a most enjoyable stay in The Absolute Hotel last week . The most outstanding feature of the Hotel to me, was the Cleanliness of every place. The bedroom was spacious with a lovely view of the River. . The staff were most helpful and cheerful at all times.. The food was beautifully presented with an excellent choice and always delicious. It was very central to all the amenities in the City and with convenient parking at Hotel. I look forward to many return visits in the near future. I would give it 5 star.

I can't praise this hotel highly enough! Fabulous spacious room, very comfortable beds, spotlessly clean.Great toiletries in the bathroom, lovely shower. Location is also very good.Breakfast and dinner were excellent-great choice, excellent presentation. All the staff without exception are friendly, helpful and very professional. Car parking is free if you can get a space which is also a big bonus. I would have liked information in the room on the spa and treatments available-there was none.I really enjoyed my stay in the hotel, have recommended it to friends and will return for a longer stay.

Marguerite scored 4 / 5 on 11/03/2013

Beautiful hotel, very clean and good location. About 10mins walk to centre. Food in restaurant was excellent and staff really nice. My own personal problem with the hotel was the stairsway. I don't do lifts and the stairway was via the restaurant which was locked up at 11pm. One had to ring reception from room for person to come and unlock the doors after this time. I am claustrophobic and didn't like this.

Helen scored 4 / 5 on 01/01/2013

I stayed in this hotel on the wend of the 9th Dec. The hotel is absolutely lovely, very comfortable and we had a great time. We dined in the hotel on the friday night and had a lovely meal. My only complaint is the hotel spa. I booked in Sat evening to get my hair done in the hairdressers and was not inpressed or pleased with the result. It was supposed to be a curly blow dry but was nothing like that. I fely that I was rushed and the girl who did my hair had absolutely no interest whaysoever. It was terrible the way it was left. Apart from that I had a very enjoyable stay in this hotel.

3 scored 4 / 5 on 06/12/2011

myself and two sisters stayed in the hotel we could find no fault with our stay, the staff we really helpful. It is situated nice and close to the city which has plenty of shopping. The evening meal was really good and plenty of choices enough to suit everybody, the breakfast was second to none. The rooms are well laid out and plenty of space they are of a really high standard. The only complaint we had was with the lighting in the room all in all I would have no problem in recommending this hotel ,

5 STARS We have not stopped talking about it since we came home. The rooms were fantastic. The beds were so comfortable. The breakfast was fab. We have been telling everyone about it. We could not get over it for the price. I am going to book another weekend away for November. We will try out another hotel. Will be sending some of our friends down soon. Thank you

On first impression this hotel was lovely, the receptionist made no issue of the twin room I had booked mistakenly to be made up to a double room. Hotel was clean and decor was nice. The only fault I would say was that the shower in our room was blocked, and the barman pointed me to an ATM at the EMO garage around the corner when in fact the ATM is no longer there. But apart from that no complaints.

Stayed at the Absolute Hotel recently on a girlie weekend.... .....beautiful hotel, we couldn't fault it one bit. Prefect location, only a ten minute walk into the city. Food in the hotel was lovely. Breakfast was second to none. Spa was fab. Staff were very helpful and friendly. All in all a prefect place to stay for a weekend break. 10/10 :-)....

We had a lovely weekend in this hotel , we were celebrating our 3oth weding anniversary and had no complaints , just a pity guests have to pay to use the spa otherwise everything perfect and we would have used it more , the hotel is very close to the centre and has a lovely bar to relax in and the breakfast was very nice , there is also a great hair dryer in the room , tea and coffee as well and omg a great shower ''heaven'' would stay here again as it is a great city to visit and a great hotel , 4star

My sister and I stayed a the Absolute Hotel with my young niece and nephew for a two night bed breakfast and dinner, we all had a wonderful time from beginning to end. The receptionists, dinning room staff and everyone we encountered within the hotel were all lovely and very welcoming, helpful and considerate. Our bedroom was very spacious, spotless clean with modern furnishings and facilities. The food and dining areas were lovely and the food served was of a high standard and excellently cooked and presented, both the children and adults menus provided plenty of variety and items were cooked and adapted to our dietary requirements without qualm, in the very professional and pleasant attitude which all of the staff within the hotel exuded. The only downside to our experience was the lack of a swimming pool within the hotel, however there is a leisure center within five minutes walk of the hotel which has reasonable public opening hours. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone, and in an era of poor service and quality I am delighted to have this opportunity to praise the staff and service offered by this hotel, a great job all round!

My daughter and I stayed in the Absolute Hotel & Spa for one night only, what a pity we were not staying longer. The room was spotless, the facilities were second to none. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We had food in the bar the evening we arrived which was very good value for what we had. Breakfast the following morning was hot and varied, we had this while watching the swans swim gracefully along on the river below. The hotel is very central. We will definitely be back for another longer stay. I would give this hotel 5 stars.

Nellie Had a very pleasant stay in the Absolute Hotel. Booked it through LIDL. Had to change my booking at very short notice. There was no problem and no extra charge. The staff were very pleasant and obliging. The room was spotless. Had dinner and breakfast included in the offer. Everything was perfect. Lidl breaks are definitely good value for money. No complaints at all. Five star rating

Cbarr scored 5 / 5 on 24/05/2011

5 Star definately. Everthing was just perfect for our one nite stay only I wished i had booked in for longer, I would have like free entry to the sauna and steam room as usually these come free with most hotels where there is a pool. I was not even sure if there was a pool.dont think so as I did not see it advertised in the liture. The spa treatement was run seperately from the hotel but got a 15% discount of which i was delighted. The staff were very professional and the food was just so lovely and well cooked. We had lamb and i still long for the same again. I would definately go back to the Hotel abosulte and limerick is a great city for shopping and night life. Thank you so much. I do appreice the offers. The deals on Lidl.ie are brilliant and I tell everyone i know about them. Most people do not know they are even there. Thanks again. Brilliant night away for it all. It was so relaxing and our room was lovely. I would have like a few more towels ..some for the night and fresh ones for the morning. The tv lacked a bit as there were lists of stations but nothing on half of them. Thats not a complaint just a view. Would highly recommend lidl.ie and the absolute hotel. Claire Barrett, 21/5/11 to 22/5/11.

I stayed in the Absolute with friends having booked rooms through Lidl breaks. From start to finish the service provided was excellent. We had to change our booking at the last minute due to someone not being able to make it and they were extremely helpful in changing our booking from 2 twins to a triple room. The only downpoint was that the car park is very small and was full when we arrived - the receptionist was helpful in outlining our options of parking on the street outside or paying for overflow parking over the road. Check in was quick, the room was fabulous, overlooking the river with 2 single beds and a double sofa bed which was very comfy. Decor was lovely! We spent the afternoon in the Thermal suite which was small but nice and very relaxing! We followed this with a quick snack and drinks at the bar - despite the fact they were extremely busy with several large parties, service was again excellent and the food arrived quickly and hit the spot!! And finally....breakfast was excellent - again, the staff were excellent and fairplay to the lady in the kitchen cooking things to order!! It was a great finish to a great stay!! I'll def stay here again and have already recommended to several friends!!

Difficult to find but worth the effort. Lovely staff. Didn't get a chance to use the spa which I was looking forward to, as it took so long to find the hotel. Food was good with vegetarian option. Buffet breakfast area too cramped and small for numbers trying to access. My biggest gripe is - the hotel carpark was full so I was directed to a carpark across the road from the hotel. On departure I was charged %u20AC5 by the hotel which I thought was very shabby and should have been covered by the hotel. I was further incensed to find the car park itself was only charging %u20AC4.50 per day (I was just there from 6pm - 11am, ie overnight) so the hotel actually made money on me!

The Absolute is close to the city center and has free parking which is great. The rooms and overall hotel presentation is excellent. The setting is lovely, looking over a river while eating dinner. The food is dreadful! The menu looks nice but i would advise all those on a Lidl break not to get additional courses because the food is not nice at all! I got Salmon and it was hot with cold mash underneath it. Rotten! My partner got pasta with chicken pieces. The pasta was cold and the chicken pieces were hard and cold also. We both felt unwell after dinner. I really as disgusting!

Stayed here 4th February after booking with Lidl. Have to say had a very enjoyable stay, hotel was excellent, fabulous room, spotlessly clean, breakfast was excellent and staff were first class. Overall would genuinely recommend this hotel and at the lidl price it is tremendous value for money. I did tell the staff I had never heard of the hotel before, it didn't jump out when i searched for Limerick hotels and in fact lidl website was first time I noticed it but glad I did. By the way the free parking makes it better value than some of the other hotels offering similar rates. James

We are a young couple from Dublin went here for a weekend break. Lovely hotel, really clean and modern, staff are excellent, food was lovely. Can't fault much to be honest. Good location. A group of 8 friends booked into the hotel last Saturday. The hotel was fabulous, the rooms extremely spacious, the staff very courteous and helpful, In all I will certainly return, The only downside was that the car park was full and there was a %u20AC5 charge to keep it in a safe car park. However, I did just park, at my own risk, across the road and the car was okay the next day. Regards, Verona Noonan

Very nice hotel in good location. Breakfast was very good and served until 11.00. Staff were friendly and had a good knowledge of the local restaurants. Parking is limited though, so check in early. The hotel is a modern hotel and does not have a foyer which leads into a bar (bar on 1st floor) so no real place to sit with a coffee and read the newspaper on a Sunday morning, but this is only a very small complaint!!

Absolutely lovely hotel. Really modern and we got an upgrade for 10 euro for the night to a stunning room. The dinner menu for those on lidl breaks was ok - not as good a choice as I have received in other hotels for the same break. Having said that the food for dinner was nice. We ordered desert and it was very tasty but portion was very small. Breakfast next morning was superb. Probably the best most relaxing hotel Breakfast I ever had. Really good and everything was warm including the coffee as it was served in a sort of thermos pot which meant it was hot all the time. Staff were really lovely including the girl in reception, the housekeeping staff and the restaurant staff. Our room was too warm so we opened windows and we could hear some noise from the smoking ares outside the function room downstairs. But overall a fantastic luxurious place great for a couples night out. Will definitely be my first choice when going to Limerick again and I have already recommended it to friends........

Our recent stay at the Absolute Hotel & Spa in Limerick was absolutely wonderful. We stayed in a family room which was very spacious, bright and modern. It is definitely on par with five star accommodation. Our package included two nighs B&B for two adults and two children at %u20AC140 in total which was incredible value. The hotel has a very good restaurant and bar food is also available. Located on the quiet side of town the hotel is still within walking distance from shops and restaurants. The booking process was very straightforward. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Lovely hotel, very modern and clean. Staff very friendly and helpful, room very spacious and nice view. Food excellent and very good value and choices available. The Lidl break is great value for money. The Absolute Hotel & Spa is a beautiful hotel but is not really for families with young children i.e. there are glass doors in the bathrooms & we were on the fourth floor & windows can be opened. This is a worry with young children climbing, as the pull out sofa bed was in front of the windows. We had our dinner in our room as the hotel restaurant was booked out unitl 9pm on Sat 25/9/2010. The starter was cold but the dinner was lovely. But overall a lovely weekend break.

Would not consider it a 4 star hotel. Most 4 star hotels will have a fridge, which we would have liked as we were travelling with a child. Also, no iron/board in room. No swimming pool. Area/ location not great. Breakfast was ok, not great. On the plus side the staff were very friendly and helpful. It was good value for a Lidl Break, but would not pay the hotel's full price to stay here again!

We really enjoyed our stay in limerick, the hotel was amazing and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant was gorgeous and good value. The only problem we encontered was the lack of signposts for the hotel throughout the city . The car park filled up very quickly, however there was space to leave the car to the front of the hotel. As for lidl breaks amazing value and we will definitely use them again! James

Really nice hotel. Had dinner on the night we checked in and it was gorgeous. Breakfast the following morning wasn't as good. The quality of the bacon and sausages were what let it down. The room was nice albeit a bit noisy-with the road on one side and a crowd of girls on a hen accross the hall from us. The bed also was two single mattresses pushed together on one base which was a bit of a pain as I kept falling down between them. Other than that we had a great break there.

Waited for more than 2 hours to check in. Dinner menu was the same on both nights of our stay. Fire alarm went off at 2am and continued to go off throughout the night. No sign of any fire brigade. Bar continued to stay open for guests throughout the fire alert. Tthe room was one of the nicest I've ever stayed in - staff ok, nice view of the river from the room.

We had an absolutely fabulous stay in the Absolute Hotel in Lmerick City. All of the staff were extremely friendly, professional and always available and willing to help. I had originally booked a twin room as I had planned to go away on a girlie night which had to be cancelled the night before. I contacted the hotel and explained and wished to change it to a double room and avail of travel cot if possible. It was no problem when I explained to the reservation staff and she was very polite and courteous on the phone. Our room was fabulous and the meal was amazing. My husband had steak and I had salmon main course, great quality food and great atmosphere. We had 6 month old baby in the restaurant until 22.00 with no problem at all. This hotel is fabulous, staff were excellent, accomadation and meal top notch. I'd have no problem returning to this hotel any time. Thank you, Claire Collins
