I would highly recommend this hotel. We stayed there for 1 night midweek for a break. What struck us most was the friendly, hospitable & very helpful staff. The manager Jason Bullman is a credit to the hotel. He went out of his way to chat to us & he was very kind & helpful. I would definitely return to the Charleville Park Hotel

The staff in the hotel were lovely and so helpful. The hotel itself was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Great value with Irish mini breaks. I will definitely return to this hotel.

The staff were friendly and efficient, especially receptionist Jennifer. The rooms were lovely and clean and, while not large, were not too small either, the beds were comfortable. Breakfast was lovely, couldn't fault it at all. I would be very happy to stay here again and would highly recommend it.

Marie scored 2 / 5 on 05/10/2021

Room and breakfast were alright but unfortunately the barb area was freezing both day and night. We asked to be moved from our table prior to ordering dinner and were refused eventhough there were plenty of empty tables. If going to the bar area I'd recommend wearing a heavy coat. Staff were also in short supply

My husband, 10 year old daughter and I had a fantastic stay in the Charaville Hotel. The hotel and leisure center is really lovely and very clean. The hotel has all public health protocols in place which made us feel very safe. The staff are very friendly and very professional. We had bar food on our first evening the food and service was excellent, very high quality, well cooked and delicious food. The server (Mikey) was very friendly, efficient, very experienced and looked after us very well. The breakfast was the best I have ever experienced, the a la carte menu had so much choice, very fresh I tried the French toast with bacon and maple syrup the best ever. My daughter had the freshly made pancakes and the fruit smoothie. The 3 mornings of our stay the breakfast was a delight again the staff are all very well trained and friendly (Hannagh) looked after us on one of the mornings. The first morning my husband couldn't make breakfast as he had a meeting however the staff very kindly organised some cold meats and bread. The service was over and beyond and nothing seemed to much trouble. We ordered room service, again very quick and delicious. Can't wait to return. Thanks to all the staff for the fantastic work they do. Check in and out very efficient and friendly. Well done to the great chefs behind the scenes.

Carole scored 4 / 5 on 25/07/2021

All staff were very friendly, polite and provided great service. Lots of options for breakfast and bar food (restautant closed during our stay). Good protocols in place for COVID-19, housekeeping has reduced access to rooms during stay, hand sanitiser dispensers in several places, table service etc. Lots of outdoor seating. Only disappointment was no air conditioning in rooms, we booked 2 rooms but only 1 had a plug in fan and were advised there were no more available.

Melinda scored 4 / 5 on 14/07/2021

Tracy scored 4 / 5 on 03/08/2020

Family of 5 staying for 3 nights in a family room. Couldn't fault the hotel. Felt completely safe at all times. From check-in to check-out all procedures were really well devised and organised, including breakfast, dinner in the bar and pool-booking. Although the room wasn't serviced (which we actually preferred in the current Covid-19 circumstances) we were not without anything we needed. Clean towels and supplies outside our door every day. Breakfast and dinner menu perfect for our needs and food a good standard. Visited Killarney, Donaraile Wildlife Park and Kayaked on Ballyhass Lakes from Charleville. Two minor things that would have improved our stay: 1) more hooks /towel rails /drawers in the family room and 2) a choice of eateries /take-outs in Charleville town.

Margaret scored 3 / 5 on 24/07/2020

Hotel fantastic would give it ten stars if I could. The food was fabulous. The staff so friendly and helpful nothing was to much for them. Room airy and very spacious. Would recommend this hotel to all. Leisure centre lovely

Loved this hotel. Staff are extremely helpful, welcoming & obliging. Food was lovely, pool is excellent. Rooms roomy and well equipped. Only 2 things to point out - bedrooms are very hot at night & changing area in leisure centre could be smartened up a little. Would heartily recommend though, in fact would definitely go again

Peggy scored 4 / 5 on 23/07/2014

My husband and I stayed in the hotel recently. From the moment we arrived we experienced the warmt and friendliness of the staff . Bedroom and facilities excellent. Food was good. We dined in the bar which was a little drab but the staff were excellent. We intend to return again soon. AZlso excellent value thanks to Lidl breaks.

Rob scored 4 / 5 on 22/07/2014

Very good hotel, extremely clean and well maintained. Excellent pool and leisure facilities and the accomodation/leisure staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Unfortunately this was let down by the bar whose appearance was so far away from the hotel we actually thought that it was run by a seperate company! We did let one of the hotel managers know and the saw a marked improvement the following day. One thing, maybe not hotel related, is that you will have to drive a bit to find something to do/eat and drink away from the hotel.

Michele scored 4 / 5 on 27/04/2014

My family & I stayed at the Charleville Park Hotel from 22nd April to 25th April 2014. We'd a very enjoyable stay, the beds were so comfy we didn't want to get up! The staff were very helpful & friendly. The pool was lovely & my kids spent many hours in it. All in all we'd a lovely time in this hotel & would recommend it. We'll be back in the future. Michele.

Gordon65 scored 4 / 5 on 27/04/2014

We have just returned from the Charleville Park Hotel. It's a very relaxed hotel with great facilities. The children loved the pool. And the sauna and steam is the best I have used in a while. There was a children club in the hotel . We never used the facilities. Breakfast was full of variety for all tastes. Did not use the restaurant instead had the bar which was very nice. More mains is needed like the variety of starters. There is lots to do outside the hotel but you have to travel. But you get to see some great scenery along the way. Last but not least a big thank to the staff . Very friendly. Hope to return in the near future. We stayed three nights.

This is an excellent hotel with great facilities. The only issue (and it may be due to the recent storms) was the lack of wifi at the hotel. Otherwise excellent and will definitely stay again

Teresa scored 2 / 5 on 22/02/2014

I stayed in the Charleville Partk Hotel on Saturday, February 15. 2014. I would not agree with its 4 star rating. The staff on reception were lovely. The room was adequate. There was no milk with the tea/coffee facilities in the room. There was no shampoo in the bathroom. There was a nice separate show in the bathroom. We had dinner in the restaurant which was ok. The staff were lovely in the restaurant. The breakfast was poor. The hot food items ie. rashers, sausages etc. looked like they had been slopped into the containers they were in. We sat at a table and the waitress poured us a cup of tea and that was it. We had never experienced this before. When you sit at the table you are usually asked whether you want tea or coffee and then you get served a pot of tea or coffee. The tea was gone cold by the time we were ready to drink it. We had to find a member of staff and ask for a pot of tea when it suited us. My husband picked up a cereal bowl and it was dirty. We found that milk, cereal etc was not being replenished as quickly as one would expect. Definitely we could not understand how this hotel has a four star rating. I wont be rushing to this hotel again.

Colin scored 5 / 5 on 20/02/2014

Stayed here on the Saturday night of Valentines weekend, and have to say the hotel was excellent, as always. Staff all friendly and helpful, especially the girls in reception, food top quality, rooms always warm, clean and well maintained. Perfect spot for a romantic getaway.

Fbrennan scored 5 / 5 on 18/02/2014

We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel was very busy and our room wasn't ready for 40 minutes and the pool was out of towels so we had to go back to our room and get some, but small complaints as the staff were very friendly and helpful, dinner and breakfast were excellent, and the pool is lovely.

Marie scored 4 / 5 on 20/12/2013

Nice hotel, clean rooms. Easy to find. Atmosphere a bit quiet during the week. Would recommend for a quiet night rather than a fun filled weekend.

Ruth scored 2 / 5 on 19/11/2013

last time we stayed here we loved it ,room was lovely , receptionist very friendly and helpful, bar food lovely as were staff, this time a bit disappointed, half the bar was closed for a party so quite a large group of us( we had two day conference in hotel) were shoved into a corner of half the bar , the food took absolutely ages , i ordered soup as a starter for my 7 yr old , i asked three times for it and the reply was it will be out with the mains, she was crying in the end , the waiter brought her starter and maincourse out together, we had the homemade beefburger which was beautiful the last time and just horrible this time. i went t the room without my desert in the end because of how long it took . such a shame because as i said we loved it the first time , i think when bar s are allowed to be overbooked no one ends up happy

Aquarius scored 5 / 5 on 30/10/2013

We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel and found the facilities and hotel overall to be of a very high standard. The staff were also very friendly and helpful.

Pat scored 3 / 5 on 08/10/2013

Overall we had an enjoyable stay. The leisure centre is excellent & relatively new(around 5 years old). The second double bed in the family room was a bit small for our 9 year old twin girls. The evening meal was a bit disappointing, though my steak was really nice. The menu was limited, even for kids.Breakfast was good, self service & catered for all tastes,continental/full Irish.

Triona scored 5 / 5 on 08/10/2013

Fantastic hotel. Fabulous food. Chocolates on bed and water in rooms such a lovely touch. Definetly go back again. Highly recommend this hotel.

Marie scored 4 / 5 on 06/10/2013

Very nice hotel. However in need of some light maintenance. Rooms clean and spacious. Food very nice and good variety. Bar in need of some leadership. Did not avail of leisure club facilities.

Scholz, scored 4 / 5 on 23/08/2013

The location was well equipped. The rooms were clean and the leisure club ok. The nice stay was disturbed by a Wifi-access that asks frequently for a registering at facebook what was cumbersome. The breakfast was ok as well but on the last day an ordered tea was just forgotten by the staff.

Michael scored 5 / 5 on 18/08/2013

Staff very friendly and helpful ,especially with children. Rooms were spotless, beds comfortable. All facilities available to keep you and your children entertained if the weather's poorly . BREAKFAST i have been in quite a few hotels, but never have i seen as wide a range as here.In a word FABULOUS.

P scored 2 / 5 on 18/08/2013

Nice hotel. Food and service very poor. Room was at the front of the hotel and there was a lot noise from the road. Ate in the hotel the first night. Steak was tough and the veg was barely cooked. Hotel has great potential but lacking leadership.

Sarah scored 5 / 5 on 22/07/2013

Stayed for 2 nights with breakfast and dinner included in the cost. When we arrived our family room had been upgraded to 2 adjoining rooms, free of charge! The staff were so nice, friendly and helpful. With the heat we did ring reception for a jug of water and ice on the last night of our stay. We ended up having to call 3 times and eventually received the water after 2 hours wait. Other then that I cannot fault! Great acitivities available for children also. Pool is very clean which is always a bonus. Rooms were really clean. Would definately return.

Geraldine scored 3 / 5 on 21/07/2013

A family of 4 stayed in this hotel for 2 nights bed and breakfast, friendly and helpful receptionist met us on arrival, room was clean, bed comfortable but no air conditioning in the room which was badly needed. Swimming pool was a good size, although the area around the pool could do with a lick of paint. A good choice of breakfast was had by all each morning from a full irish to fresh fruit or cereal. Ed's bar was in need of 'brightening up' as it was quite dark, didn't feel or look the cleanest, area could well be improved on. Would stay again if in the area.

Eilish scored 3 / 5 on 14/07/2013

We had a great time in the hotel. Unfortunately I would not recommend a visit during the hot weather as the hotel has no air conditioning and the rooms on the top floor were like walking in to a sauna. The staff were very helpful and supplied some fans, however this did not solve the problem and the heat was unbearable. It is a beautiful hotel and the staff are very nice, except for one male member of staff named Alan who was working in the leisure center who I found to be very unprofessional and quite rude. However I would definitely go back to the hotel again but only during the cooler months.

Tom scored 5 / 5 on 02/07/2013

Great value, convenient location, nice friendly staff, the room was quite large and the five of us stayed there in comfort, the real highlight of stay was the pool/ leisure centre which was very warm, clean and great for kids, would highly recommend this hotel for an affordable yet quality experience.

Marie scored 4 / 5 on 23/04/2013

We have stayed here before and enjoyed our previous visit - this occasion (last weekend 20th April) was no different; on arrival and right throughout our stay, the staff were very welcoming and extremely obliging. The food was excellent also, and the hotel itself was exactly " what it said on the tin" - modern comfortable and inviting. I would have no heistation in recommending this hotel to other guests and most definitely will be making a return visit. Marie Barry

Barbara scored 4 / 5 on 21/04/2013

Stayed here for two nights last week from the 17th to 19th rooms are bright and very clean also the staff are very friendly and helpful especially if you are going sightseeing in the area the full irish breakfast is buffet but they do your eggs fresh and there's a choice of omelette and pancakes made fresh also the food in the bar is very good would stay here again without any hesitation Barbara

We stayed here for New Years Eve. The hotel is lovely and the rooms are really spacious. The pool area is lovely and clean and really modern. The children really enjoyed it. The food both in the bar and the restaurant was lovely. There were 13 of us staying and everyone enjoyed it. I did have a small complaint and that was to do with the service. The staff were lovely and very friendly but no-one seemed to know what they were doing. If we ordered a drink we got it 2 maybe 3 times, on new years eve there was one girl left behind the bar from about 11 o clock on her own. The bar was full and there was a 30th birthday party on. The poor girl hadn't a chance. Overall it was a lovely break. We would stay again.

it could be accorded more attention towards cleaning. overall i don't think 4 stars, more like 3 stars. friendly staff, nice to kids, but i think recession hits everyone, including this hotel. few fixtures need to be replaced or fixed.

Champagne scored 3 / 5 on 24/10/2012

The hotel itself deserves 4 stars: great clean rooms, very good swimming pool, excellent service. But we were disappointed with the kitchen - the food wasn't great and we were treated as "lidl people" - were provided with different menu, etc. Was a great value, but next time I would go to Carlton in Tralee - everything was just excellent there.

hi i just just came back from a short say in the charleville hotel .The hotel is fab the only thing a bit too warm they had no heating on but the rooms were like sleeping in an oven . We did say it to them and they gave us a fan for the room but the fan we couldn't use as it made so much noise no of us would get any sleep there was only two blades in the fan instead of three .The staff is very friendly especially in the bar and reception they couldn't do enough for you. There would be a few issues i would have the tea and coffee is stored in the wordrobe not out for u to see it i didn't think it was available to us but during our first night when i couldn't sleep i went looking and found it . we were given 1 mug and 1 spoon and there was 3 of us in the room .when i said it the next day the girl at reception said she would get it sorted straight away but we had to ask again at 4 o clock for the mugs .we basically waited half the day to make a cuppa in the room i wasn't happy with this. the next day when they did the room up we got no refill of tea or no bottles of water in the room again half the evening waiting for bottles of water to be brought up but a lovely lad from the bar brought it up to the room for us and said that should have been done straight away when we asked .one the morning we were leaving we received toast that was bluemoulded i was not happy at all with this for a 4 star the standard and serves of the restaurant and house keeping should have been a lot better .the food in the bar was brillant but the breakfast needs improvement especially the hot breakfast we were down each morning in and around the same time but the first morning breakfast was cold 2nd morning it was so so but on the monday it was very hot i couldn't understand how the standard be so different considering it was the same chef on each morning .it is a self service buffet with i have no problem with but they are not suitable to hold large amounts of food at anyone time and keep the hot to have to keep checking them for temp and keep refreshing them in order to keep things hot .other than all of my issues we did enjoy my stay in charleville park but i feel they do need to improve on a few things .

We booked a family room for ourselves and 7 month old boy. The hotel is easily found and looks amazing, modern and new. We came for the swimming facilities, which were clean and well organized. Unfortunately, the family changing room is a bit awkward, as there are no cubicles to change for the parents, just 1 disabled toilet with baby changing facilities. But the lockers are big enough to store your stuff, and the main pool is a nice 30 degrees, and the kiddie pool is 32 degrees, which was very nice. The room was adequate, a nice big double bed and a standard travel cot. The main downside was that the room was very stuffy and hot, and there is no air conditioning. The window opens a bit, but this did not help to cool down the room. This made sleeping a bit uncomfortable, fortunately, our little boy was able to sleep (I brought our own mattress and covers for him). The pub served the best food, which had huge quantities, both for the carvery lunch as for dinner. The restaurant was ok, but did not have a huge selection of food. As we made the reservation through this site, there was a special menu, which was limited to 1 fish, 1 chicken and 1 vegetarian dish (risotto). When asking, you could also order the steak or lamb for a supplement charge. The food served was of excellent quality and well made. Breakfast was well organized, and foods were replenished often (even if some guests tried to pile up their plates with the pastries, not considering other guests...) All in all, it was an excellent choice and we were able to relax for the 2 days that we were there. We will be back when it's not so warm and sticky!

We had a lovely stay here it was a pity it was only for one night. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room and hotel in general was very clean and spacious. The layout of the bar could have been better.

Stayed at this hotel for just one night with 3 girlfriends but would definitely have stayed longer given the time. The Main hotel lobby/amenity areas are really spacious and brightly decorated, the restaurant was fabulous for both breakfast AND dinner and ample portions of everything. Rooms were very comfortable and was great to have the tea/coffee facilities. Great pool and sauna and staff throughout the hotel were very helpful and accommodating so can't fault this hotel really except for maybe the bar is a little less plush and not the liveliest spot maybe but it suited our needs perfectly. Have visited many Hotels over the years and would really rate this one up there for the relaxation factor, looking forward to returning soon hopefully. Satisfied female customer (yes its not a myth :D )

We, a family of 4 stayed on a Lidls break here at the weekend. Have to say it was lovely. Rooms comfy and spacious and very clean. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. The bar staff and restaurant staff were good too. The food was great and loads of choice for kids. Our favourite thing was the Pool. Our kids loved it as it wasn't too boring for them and I loved the jacuzzi attached to the pool. Would go back again definately. The only let down was location.

We stayed in the hotel for 3 nights with our 2 kids and had a great stay. The family rooms were very good the breakfast buffet was lovely, and the swimming pool was great for the kids as well.I also used the gym which I thought was very good . The only 1 bad thing the let's this 4 star hotel down is eds bar , if anyone stays here I don't recommend it . It doesn't look like there is a manager in it every day we used it we were let down. The first time we used it we went to a table with used glasses on it we were there for an hour and so were the glasses. Another time we asked the girl waiter for food we waited for 30 minutes went back to her and she was talkin and cleaning glasses behind the bar so we left the bar and went somewhere else for food. But other than this problem the hotel has we had a great stay and would stay again .(just wouldn't use eds bar.)

The reception staff were extremely friends, and very glad to say our booking requests were fully noted and fulfilled. The rooms are well equipped and of a good standard. The restaurant is a good stardard and the pool and leisure facilities excellant. Highly recommended and very good value through the Lidl website.

Very good quality hotel. Hotel bedroom was perfect for our family (2 adults and 2 children). It was very large and spacious. The leisure centre was great - very clean with a great pool and kids pool area. The kids club worked very well and the kids enjoyed their time there. Unfort the only thing that let this hotel down is the food. The bar food and service was very poor. Would go back again to this hotel but would not eat in the bar. Ideal location for travelling around the north Cork area.

Stayed Halloween Bank Holiday 2011 (3 nights) (2 adults, 2 kids aged 9 & 8). Excellent facilities at the hotel. Kids loved the kids club and especially with Shane and Vera who ran the classes involved. Loved the little touch of biscuits and water always stocked up in the room each day. Very friendly staff on reception and had loads of information. Breakfast was class. Loads on offer. The only downside we had and i notice on previous reviews was the bar and the staff there. Food was okish but it was the wait that was the problem (half hour). I found the staff were not so friendly there and it really needs improving. Also it was not kept clean as the other areas of the hotel where you could find no fault. Its a pity because more would use the bar and the menu there instead of going into town. So please guys improve services in the bar. Definately would go back again though and would recommend it highly.

We spent 2 nights at the Charleville Park Hotel, we were shopping in Limerick and meeting friends in Mallow this was the ideal place to stay. Half way between both. We really liked the hotel, it was clean and the pool was lovely. My girls really loved the movie night special, a DVD, hot chocolates, cookies and pop corn all delivered to our room for 5 euro. The breakfast was lovely too, fresh and plenty. The staff were very nice and friendly. We will be going back for another mini shopping break and cant wait to stay in the Charleville Park Hotel again.

Stayed in this hotel for three nights 18th August - 21st August. Holtel is lovely, very nice foyer, dining room and bedrooms. Chocolates and bottles of water in room when we arrived was nice touch. Bottles of water were replaced each day. Beds very comfortable. We didnt use the leisure facilities but did hear others saying they were fine. Breakfast was good with fresh fruit and nice breads as well as the usual cereals and fried foods. We attended a wedding during our stay and the food was excellent. The only problem we had was the lack of atmosphere in the bar where the staff seemed a llittle put out while when we asked to order bar food. All in all this is very nice hotel close to the town and we would definately stay here again.

We stayed there on the Saturday night before Valentines and were treated to a glass of prosecco before dinner and a rose for the lady! The breakfast buffet is very good quality with a great selection - Irish breakfast, viennoiserie, cereal, fresh fruit salad, cheeses etc. We would definitely stay at the hotel again.

Had breakfast both mornings and dinner in the bar one evening and in the restaurant the second evening. Both meals were very nice and good value. We were very impressed with the customer service in this hotel and all in all it made our stay most enjoyable.

We found the standards of the rooms unsatisfactory for a four star hotel, our room smelt of smoke and was not that clean,we had stained cushions and towels. the night we stayed their was a lot of noise which kept us awake the next day we found out that the Guards were called in as a rowdy group had done considerable damage. The room was cold too. My family booked a 3-night stay at the Charleville Park Hotel with lidl.ie. It was exceptionally good value!! The hotel was georgeous. Very friendly and helpful staff throughout. The food was delicious with a generous breakfast buffet and very good quality and choice both in the bar and restaurant. The leisure centre is excellent, especially the swimming pool which is spacious and child-friendly. If I had one criticism it would have to be the heat in our room at night - until we discovered it could be regulated!! Our two boys, aged 6 and 4 spent two mornings at the kids club and thoroughly it. My husband and I found Charleville a lovely little town with every facility within a compact area. I would definitely recommend the Charleville Park Hotel to any family looking for a short break. I would give it 9 out of 10!!

Stayed for one night in Charleville Park Hotel. Highly recommend it. Modern, clean and friendly. Spacious room. Food was 1st class. Was given choice from hotels own menu, with a very reasonable %u20AC4 extra for steak. Leisure centre was just fantastic, warmest swimming pool I've ever been in! Breakfast was buffett style, plenty of choice and still more choices available to order off breakfast menu. I will definatly return. The Lidl break is superb value - I did think quality would be effected as price was so good, but no, we got more than what we paid for. Very enjoyable.

Staff were extremely friendly and hotel is modern and very clean. Nicely located just outside Charlevile. 2 small issues for us which were unfortunate, one was the iron in the room was pathetic and there were no different ones to be had. We had to find a dry cleaners in the town to iron our clothes for the wedding we were going to. Also, the breakfast, which we ordered to the room arrived cold and was tasteless.

It was a lovely hotel with very friendly staff however the location is not ideal. You would need a car as its a good bit outside the town and charleville is rather quiet. The bar food was just ok but it doesn't really have much of an atmosphere. The pool is really nice and they have a kiddies club which was good. They also have a kids cinema night which is good for the kids but its not supervised and they advertised hot chocolate to be served which wasn't served on thursday night. You know kids when you tell them there's something and they don't get it they are very disappointed

On arrival, we found the staff extremely friendly and were delighted to find that they had upgraded us to a suite as their family rooms were booked out. The room was absolutely fantastic- really spacious with a jacuzzi bath!! We booked for dinner on this site and had the meal in the bar. We found the staff extremely friendly and could choose two courses from the general menu which was delicious. The next morning, the breakfast was excellent and the service was really exceptional. We used the leisure centre and the children loved the kids pool and the hydrotherapy pool. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. Also the price was fantastic. I will recommend this site to everyone I know.

by ann 2nd july2010 We stayed in Charleville Park Hotel at the end of june. Enjoyed the break. but.... In bedroom no remote for tv , no phone, no cups and blind was broken. Had lunch in Ed's bar , service was very slow. unfortunately we also had to have our meal in lounge , Ed's Bar, rather than restaurant as there was a function on. The lounge was small and busy.. Large tv dominated the area where we sat so was noisy, The service was again very slow and the main course when it arrived was'nt great, steak was sitting in a pool of grease No air conditioning in bedroom so didnt sleep very well due to extreme heat. Had breakfast in lovely restaurant the following morning. Leisure centre was lovely.

Stayed in the hotel for the June Bank Holiday weekend, facilities were very good, with a high standard in the restaurant and very friendly staff. Only downside was the lack of air conditioning in the rooms, as we had to open the windows to cool down, which meant as the night club cleared out, all the boy racers where speeding up and down the road, which disturbered our sleep. Would stay there again, but would try and get a room away from the front of the hotel
