Very happy with our stay. All requests looked after and staff friendly and helpful.

Steve scored 3 / 5 on 22/08/2022

The room looked lovely and was very clean. I would have liked the pillows to have been a better quality. The breakfast was fine. The chef cooking eggs was very nice.

Miriam scored 5 / 5 on 22/08/2022

Have being staying in dhotel since it opened at least 4 times a year for a one night break. Rooms beautiful and breakfast to die for . Love Hops bar food but would like if Godwins were open during week, but understand staff shortages.

Graeme scored 3 / 5 on 12/08/2022

Excellent location. We had a balcony room on 5th floor overlooking the River and the town. Separation between rooms on balcony only waist height and therefore possible can be overlooked in room from adjoining balcony. Desk edge of room badly worn. Food in Hopps bar very good. Breakfast congestion/bottleneck in doorway where cereals and cooked breakfast items are and the where the chef prepares eggs, as required, and toaster. Some of the younger waitress staff could be more attentive . No Gym facilities

Theresa scored 3 / 5 on 22/07/2022

Not happy with the food got a steak sandwich and more fat and very grizzly and Not well done so didn't have any more food

Cathal scored 2 / 5 on 17/07/2022

Definitely not a 4 star hotel. Shower very poor, little to no pressure. Dust in the room. Breakfast was slow and hot foot containers not replenished so you'd be standing waiting for hot food. Lots of room for improvement!

John P scored 3 / 5 on 25/05/2022

While the Hotel is in a good location, it is very impersonal and is not in my opinion of 4 Star quality. The bedroom chairs are totally unsuitable and capsize all too easily, and can not be used to sit at the table. A ham n tomato sandwich for collection from the Bar at €9 was a bit rich, although when I was called back to the bar and informed they hadn't the ingredients to make it, I could order anything else off the menu at no extra cost. The housekeeping staff were friendly and efficient

Helen scored 5 / 5 on 20/04/2022

Fab time with the girls..staff were so nice and did everything to make our trip so enjoyable..we will definitely be back..5 star ??

Mervyn scored 4 / 5 on 31/10/2021

We stayed here for three nights and loved this hotel. We asked for a room with a view if possible and got a top floor room with a great view of the river and viaduct. Parking was €8 a night and they validate a ticket so you can come and go as you please. Breakfast was a buffet and was good. Staff were friendly and the bar was good for food but slow as understaffed. Rooms weren’t cleaned daily due to Covid but you could get towels from reception. Overall very good hotel and near to town centre.

Anne scored 5 / 5 on 08/10/2021

Lovely room, fab view over the river, late check out. Good breakfast. Friendly service. Perfect

Aidan scored 3 / 5 on 13/09/2021

Nice spacious well finished room with good quality toiletries Service in bar not very good , sat for 15 minutes waiting for someone to serve us, eventually had to ask at the bar but still but nobody came , then asked again and finally someone came to our table. When we had a drink in the lobby after the bar closed the porter wanted to take away the card out of our sight to make payment, we refused as that is a big no-no in terms of fraud. Breakfast service was excellent, breakfast selection was excellent and all of the food was lovely.

John scored 4 / 5 on 07/09/2021

We were very pleased with each and every member of staff at the D Hotel that we interacted with, with a special mention for the Restaurant Manager Louise Byrne whose attention was much appreciated when arranging for us and our (visiting) guests to dine at Goodwins. Only negative (minor) was parking arrangements which could be tweeked.

Maura scored 4 / 5 on 09/07/2021

Lovely centrally located hotel. Staff friendly and attentive.

Tina scored 5 / 5 on 28/06/2021

From start to finish everything about the D Hotel was perfect, room was spacious with large comfortable bed nice view of the river, spotlessly clean. Food was spectacular, staff were very helpful and friendly, especially Louise in the restaurant. It was our first of many visits , definitely be back.

Niall scored 2 / 5 on 22/06/2021

Excellent evening meal but let down by the absence of a gluten free breakfast despite the hotel having been notified 4 days in advance. However staff did make the effort to purchase sausages from dunnes next door. This resulted in a 1 hour wait for breakfast. Which came cold . When toast was requested informed that would have to wait until the end of the service until they could get it. Wasnt prepared to wait another hour so left.

Mairead scored 5 / 5 on 21/06/2021

The staff at this hotel made our stay special From the moment we arrived the staff on reception couldn’t have been more helpful or accommodating in making our stay enjoyable The waiting staff in the hoops bar in the evening were fantastic and nothing was too much trouble Lovely hotel on the river we will definitely be back

Have gone to d hotel since the day it opened. Always enjoy our stay.

Brid scored 3 / 5 on 11/08/2020

We booked a room for two adults and 2 children .we were given a room with a double and one broken single bed. There was a fan in the room but room too hot later discovered other residents on our floor some issue . There was no hot water on the first night of our stay. Reception staff very dismissive of any complaint s and made no attempt to remedy issues raised

Alan scored 4 / 5 on 11/08/2020

Nice hotel . Good location. Very strange in these times but we had a few drinks in hops bar which was all social distancing. Staff are friendly. Carpark is now charged at €7 a night as it's not own by hotel as it was previously.

Excellent location, beautiful hotel, great staff

Christopher scored 3 / 5 on 19/07/2020

I have been in this hotel 6 or 7 times in the last year and it has been good every time we normally stay Using Lidl’s Breaks and there is normally a surcharge of €5 if you get a stake in the restaurant however this time the surcharge has risen by 100% to €10 which I think is a little bit extreme however the hotel I will stay again

Ronan scored 4 / 5 on 19/07/2020

Stayed one night , warm welcome from receptionist , lovely family room, had food in Hops Bar, very good, overall lovely hotel with helpful and friendly staff

Claudia scored 4 / 5 on 08/07/2020

We like our stay but there was a huge draft coming through the door of room 214 and we could not open the window to let in fresh air. Thanks.

Simone scored 4 / 5 on 13/01/2020

We had a fantastic stay at The D Hotel, the staff were so friendly and attentive even though there was a large coach party also staying in the hotel. The room was clean and beds very comfortable. Food in the bar was lovely (paid the supplement for the steak which was yum). Would definitely recommend staying there.

Liamo scored 3 / 5 on 27/02/2019

A lovely hotel with lovely staff but I was very disappointed that I had to pay car parking fees for my 2_day stay guests should have free parking also a holding off 100 euros on my card for food again unnecessary I believe and I will be going back to Drogheda as it was a beautiful town but wouldn't be returning to the d hotel thank you

Reviewer81850856 scored 2 / 5 on 18/12/2017

We really did not enjoy our stay at the D hotel. The hotel was noisey with a party night and residents smoking outside the front. The breakfast from the buffet was cold. A shame as the hotel has great potential.

Berni scored 3 / 5 on 10/05/2017

Great location & nice setting with views over the River Boyne. Staff had us upgraded as we were celebrating our wedding anniversary & a card with a box of choc was left in our room - very nice personal touch. On arrival, our room wasn't quite ready so left our luggage & went off to town, just a stones throw away. Our meal was included - nice selection on the menu. Food was tasty but steak was very fatty. Wings were delicious as was fish & chips. Room was very spacious. Breakfast was very organised, plenty of options if you chose not to have fry. Buffet style. Free car park - shopping centre next door so carpark is shared but free for residents. Overall - a very pleasant stay & would recommend it.

D Hotel is in a great location with free parking and great shopping centre next door. Remember to get your car park ticket validated when checking out. The room was spotless and very comfortable bed and pillows. Great choice for breakfast in the morning and lovely staff in the restaurant and reception. Used the mini-gym which was very small (3 pieces of main equipment) but adequate for a quick workout. Would recommend this hotel for single travelers, couples and families.

had a lovely time at the D Hotel.

Catherina scored 4 / 5 on 04/03/2014

we stopped going to the D hotel a few years back because of a bad experience we had with the cleanliness of our bedroom that we stayed in. We decided to take a trip back to the hotel last week and to our delight I have to say that we enjoyed every minute of our stay from the staff , food and the cleanliness it was fantastic .We will go back again for sure.

Fionola scored 3 / 5 on 29/04/2013

I would say that this is a 3 star hotel not a 4 star. the tiles on the way in badly need to be replaced. the rooms are spacious ===be careful of the base of the bed as it sticks out and you can easily hit your leg ----the staff were friendly enough even though I was overcharged on leaving ---this took time to solve and was a bit frustrating----the food was excellent for dinner could not fault it ---I think an elderly couple would prefer a dining room rather than a bar though --excellent position in town for shopping

Kevin scored 4 / 5 on 17/03/2013

Having stayed in this hotel a few times before we always found this hotel as one of the best we have stayed at,the staff are very friendly and helpful. The new layout might not suit everyone eating in the new lounge area but the food was very good (there was a delay in seating us it was worth waiting). We will be staying in this hotel again, maybe keep a small lounge for families. Thanks Kevin & Avril

Mary scored 5 / 5 on 20/12/2012

The hotel was lovely. arrived in the dark and area very dark outside needs more outside lighting but inside was beautiful. On check in was asked for credit card for authorization . I only owed 85 euro which i paid in cash but 133 was put on hold on my credit card tying up money i could have done with. even 4 days later this amount is still pending. apart from that the hotel and staff were fabulous and the food in the bar was amazing we had dinner and breakfast and would recommend to anyone

Pf scored 4 / 5 on 04/12/2012

Our family comprising 10 adults & 1 baby stayed at the D Hotel dinner B&B on a recent Saturday night to celebrate a retirement. We were extremely well looked after and the hotel made a very special effort to recognise the retirement celebration occasion ... won't say what to avoid creating an unrealistic precedent but it was really much appreciated. Anyway, the reason we went to the D in the first place is because we had been there before and found it to be excellent, whether for a couple or a bigger family group. Good welcome. Food good, especially the dinner .. great to get restaurant standard in a busy hotel. Good atmosphere, great live music and rooms modern & spacious. Free parking a great bonus and all amenities, shops etc only a stroll away.... and easy access from Dublin was also an important aspect to us due to the mid winter timing of our event.

Laura scored 2 / 5 on 13/11/2012

Not a 4 star hotel!! Room was freezing when we got there, we were then offered a portable heater for the room. Restaurant and bar closed for private function not told in advance had to have dinner while the band was playing. Would never return to this hotel.

Gillie scored 4 / 5 on 12/11/2012

We found the hotel really nice - pity about the surroundings. The staff were extremely friendly and the food was outstanding at the prices charged. The only point we would make is that the extremely friendly young barman be shown how ho make an Irish Coffee properly - this is only a minor point in an otherwise enjoyable stay.

The D Hotel in Drogheda is in a great location near the center of the town. It's a pity that it is so hard to find both for motorists and pedestrians. A lovely clean hotel with very helpful and friendly staff. The menu is a little dated possibly of 70's or 80's vintage. But the food was fine though uninspiring. This is a 4* ? hotel without air conditioning. Enjoyable stay.

Garry scored 4 / 5 on 10/06/2012

All the family were very impressed with the hotel. It was quiet a while since they were in Drogheda and could not believe the location, everything was in walking distance.

Hotel nice very modren, not very cosy no sky tv in bar area so you need to go out of hotel to watch any football matchs. Situated good for going in to town. Food in resturant very good. Over all good value for money.

Marsie scored 4 / 5 on 01/03/2011

Lovely hotel, ideal location. We had a lovely room. Staff very courteous. Would have like the restaurant to be seperate, it is just like a continuation of the bar, all the noise and activity from the bar can be seen and heard. The bar food is very nice and affordable, the only drawback being the service is very slow but barstaff lovely. The included meal in the restaurant- I feel that this could have been handled much better. We were reminded we were on the Lidl break and could have the early bird menu. It is a little restricted and not to everyones taste. When I asked could I have something otf the main menu, told yes but would have to pay the difference over the allocated amount. That was not a problem. Just felt they could explain your options in a diplomatic way what your choices are at the start so as there would be no embarrassment on anyones part. Overall we had a lovely stay and would definitely recommend this hotel

Ger scored 5 / 5 on 01/03/2011

Nice hotel, food lovely, well worth the deal BUT rooms are minute but bed comfy and I didnt like the way the restaurant is in the bar doesnt feel very special just like glorified bar food. Staff were nice though. I have stay in alot of 4* hotels and this doesnt really deserve it but nice all the same for a night away but I wont be returning.

The Hotel was great, spotless rooms, very friendly staff and great location. Its my second visit here with Lidl breaks.Food was excellent in restaurant as was bar food where we ate last time.Only one complaint this time,I brought 5 friends with me and had told them how great the breakfast was only to be let down.It was very bizzy but still no excuse, food was cold and not a lot left at 10.30,finish's at 11 on sun,and when it was replenished it was over cooked.Coffee and tea were also cold.Having said that I will put it down as a bad day at the office!! It will not put any of us off returning as we had a great stay and band were very good in the bar .

Audrey scored 5 / 5 on 03/01/2011

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the D. Hotel. It was very well priced through the Lidl breaks and great value for money. The staff in the hotel were lovely and the room was spotless. The evening meal was lovely, I would definitely stay there again.

The staff were very friendly but i was not overly keen on the hotel. I expected the hotel to be nicer considering it is a 4 star hotel. The rooms are very basic but spotless and the bed is comfortable. The dinner and breakfast were very nice. Over all it was good value for money.

Izzymoon scored 4 / 5 on 09/11/2010

I would actually rate this 4.5. The only reason why it doesn't get a 5 star is because of the service in the bar / resturant and only in the sfternoons. The service was brilliant at dinner, but when we arrived we waited for 30mins and nobody came near us, so we left. The following afternoon we ordered soup and sandwiches it took 40 mins and arrived without bread for the soup without cutlery etc... We did complain and the manager was brilliant we didn't pay for lunch. Other than that the food was fantastic, rooms spotless and staff very helpful. Altogether a great hotel. There were nine of us and we all said we would go back, Recommended.

Hotel in a great location, beside Scotch Hall Shopping Centre, and within a 5 min walk to main town centre. Rooms basic but could do with a revamp sooner than later. Staff friendly when you got their attention. Other than that we enjoyed our stay,

This is a regular spot for us. We have been here numeros times before and because ofits high standards returned again with friends. As usual food and staff were great. But our stay wasn't as enjoyable we were given a disabled room!!! There was no bath, just a shower that was wheelchair accessible which resulted in the bathroom floor getting soaked, there was no toilet lid and the sink only gave us cold water. It wouldn't put us off returning but it wasn't one of our pleasantest stays

Pat scored 2 / 5 on 15/10/2010

No where near a 4 star hotel Food was disspointing, especailly the breakfast No Air con in the rooms Staff were good, but overall quality of product was disappointing. Just because we were on LIDL break, the service and quilty suffered

A little disappointed.... Went for one night B&B with evening meal %u20AC98 for the two of us through the Lidl breaks as soon as I booked received an email from the hotel offering a superior room for %u20AC10 extra so said why not. When we arrived Girl on reception was very pleasant we had to authorise a %u20AC50 charge plus the %u20AC108 but they were charging %u20AC118 when I pointed this out I was told not to worry it would be rectified when we checked out it wasn't....... we got the keycard and headed to the room we arrived into a room that had an unmade bed and was dirty from the prevoius occupants! What hotel send you to a dirty room!!! Went down for dinner in the evening and like a previous reviewer said we were contantly reminded as were the people sitting beside us' your on the Lidl break so if you want 3 courses it will be extra' I explained we already knew this. Other peole arrived after us and ordered after us yet received their drinks & starters before us, when our starters finally arrived we still hadn't received our Drinks (1 bottle of Wine, 1 beer & water) or bread at the table When drinks did arrived my partmer was offered th wrong beer not once but twice the same one ws brought over to us.!! Our partner commented to me are we also receiving the Lidl treatment :) Otherwise the Food was excellant and our waitress Niamh was extremely nice and helpful. Next morning again the bill was being over charged so if you do go check your bill. Room as nice but don't be expectin 4 star but god for a night away with good food.

We Arrived latish on the friday n wanted a curry so went down n got one and brought it back, we asked could we have plates at reception and they said they would bring them up to the room. Told them what room is was, waited for ages they never came. Rang down, No answer. So had to eat it out of the trays. The Plates never came. Also the next day when The cleanin woman was goin around the rooms we left tho room to go ou and put the sign on the door, We came back that evening and the room had only been hoovered, the bed sheets were not changed, (we also spilled curry on the because we had no plates so i thought that was very bad! Also there is not much channels on the T,V . it lashed one of the days we were there so waiting for it to calm a bit we wanted to relax but not much to watch! That Night we went to go down to the bar, but there were not enough tables or chairs for everyone. alot of people were standing around as there was a band about to play! On the plus side it is a nice hotel,, close to the shops etc! comfy beds,

Had a fantastic night in the D hotel, Drogheda which was booked through Lidl Breaks. Brilliant value and the food was of a very high standard with very helpfull staff. Could have had more staff on duty however as we were waiting quite a bit for service but it did not hinder our stay. Will defnately use the Lidl Breaks again.

I enjoyed the break at the d hotel, the food was excellent and the room was nice. However I had a problem with the staff on reception regarding my entitlements under the Lidl breaks offer. They insisted on a number of occasions that I should only be entitled to one dinner and not two as per the offer. This continued up to checking out time when they agreed not to charge for the second nights meal until they checked it out and the next dayI received an apology from the manager for any embarrasement caused. I think the website might not be clear on this and clarification may be needed to avoid this situation in the future, although I have been on two other Lidl breaks where it did not occur. Overall the break was very enjoyable and excellent value for money, and I look forward to many more Lidl breaks at the new reduced rate.

This hotel was great value for money. The room was exceptionally comfortable. Had nice view of river. Hotel is located beside Scotch Hall shopping centre, so perfect for shopping. It was still quiet and peaceful. Dinner and breakfast were lovely. Only complaint was that noise from the bard was quite loud while having dinner in the restaurant. Overall, I was very impressed & will definitely go back.

Gorgeous hotel, lovely decor. Got upgraded to a superior room for free, was a very nice surprise. Ideal for a city break away from Dublin. Food was tasty. Live music in the bar afterwards helped us have a nice relaxed evening. Definitely reccommend.

Excellent hotel in a good location, perfect for shopping with some good golf nearby , would recommend for a nights getaway with good bar and friendly bar staff. Good restuarant but menu very restricted on the lidl deal so we had to opt for other menu with extra charge, we were also constently reminded we were on a " lidl deal" by the restuarant waiter/ manager got a bit annoying after a while, other than that, perfection , be back soon.

Great value for money. Room great, we were upgraded so this was a lovely. Meal out by river was excellent. Free parking. Only one little fault - room needed to be hoovered over at sitting area. But can def forgive this.
