Mary scored 4 / 5 on 21/08/2022

Great hotel, room was a fantastic size, spotless clean and maintained every day. Food was delicious, best by far for a long time. Staff were very attentive and nothing was a hassle. Sean greeted all the guests that were booking in same time as us. A lovely personal touch. Will definitely stay again.

Kim scored 4 / 5 on 24/08/2020

We had a really lovely break at the hotel and would certainly be going back and have already recommended it to our friends and family. The place was spotless and the staff amazing. The leisure centre and swimming pool was also spotless and very friendly staff.

I stayed in the hotel 15 years ago and it was lovely and well kept. The hotel needs to be upgraded.

Anthony scored 3 / 5 on 09/04/2018

Very good hotel and excellent leisure facilities provided. Overall a very enjoyable experience and room provided was quite adequate, equipped with power shower and coffee and tea making facilities. Breakfast was a bit 'hit and miss' however, with some of the cooked foods often tepid at best. The food in the restaurant was fine (perhaps a bit overpriced). Would return and recommend overall.

Great family run hotel. Staff make you feel at home on arrival, and nothing is too much bother. Makes a welcome change from chain hotels. Staff and owners seem to take great pride in making your stay as good as possible. Thank you for a lovely few days.

Granth scored 5 / 5 on 07/11/2017

Have stayed in a lot of hotels from the lidl breaks and this has been the best so far . Had a family room 2 adults and two children . Room had a double bed , single and a made up bed . Beds very comfortable to sleep in room very big and bath and shower big. We got to check in early , stayed two nights over halloween break . Had dinner on the night we arrived . Had food in the bar lovely . We used the swimming pool kids loved it . Breakfast nice and they have a pancake maker kids loved as they could make there own . I would give this hotel a five star and would stay here again . You would need a car if staying here as out of town .

Excellent Hotel. Well maintained . Very friendly staff. Spent weekend in Hotel Woodstock on 2B&B + 1 evening meal offer. While the evening meal was excellent we did not have the same choice as form the "regular" or "bar menu". Five star rating all the same. Highly recommended

Johnny scored 4 / 5 on 19/09/2017

Nice, clean and friendly Hotel with good leisure facilities and very comfortable beds. Staff are very polite and always willing to assist. Only minor downside is the location. It wasn't much of an issue for us, but it is slightly away from the town of Ennis and might be an issue for some. Overall though we had a lovely short stay at Woodstock Hotel and would visit again.

Eleanor scored 5 / 5 on 18/09/2017

We arrived at the hotel on Friday night to a blazing wood fire and the friendliest of reception staff, even allowing for the fact that they had an awards night in the bar. Our rooms were spacious and airy and in true Cork Fashion, we then headed to the bar, which was just great. the food was delivered with a smile and every staff member had time to have a few words. Then off to the room. Breakfast on Saturday was everything you could wish for and my coeliac fiends you will find that there is no problem at all. From Valerie in the Restaurant to Elaine & Sean the owners who checked to ensure that four Cork women did not get lost the weekend just flew and sure did they arrange to have the musician play the Cork National Anthem (what more could you ask for) Then it was time for us to depart. It is impossible to single out any one person but I have to mention , Rachel on the front desk when we arrived, Julianne who had the patience of a saint when we kept wiping our cards by putting them in with our mobile phones to the girls on the corridor charged with keeping the rooms clean. It would be hard to find fault with this hotel from any perspective. It was the perfect setting for our reunion. Will we be back again WITHOUT A DOUBT.

Mary scored 4 / 5 on 14/09/2017

Very nice Hotel Very nice Staff Good location . Plenty Parking Spaces. Swimming Pool and Staff helping out there 100% the very best. Breakfast vey nice. good Staff 100% to all. The only Problem was the Dinner 2hrs for 2.Course We did not have Tea or Coffee it took so long not nice for me after Working that Morning and then Journey of 3 hrs that was the only Problem the Evening ( Sunday ). I will return again .

excellent value for money. Only complaint is the bar which is set up as a restaurant in the evening with no seating except high bar stools for people who just want a drink.

We stayed here for a 2 night break. Lovely hotel, comfortable beds an spacious enough room. It was perfect place for rest. We enjoyed swimming pool, sauna and zucuzi. Staffs (swimming pool, restaurant, reception) were kind and helpful. Good value for money. Good breakfast. We had a wonderful time. Anna Swadzba

I stayed here for a 2 night break with 3 friends. We were made feel very welcome both by the staff & the hotel owner. Food was excellent & the spacious reception area had a lovely log fire & cosy couches for evening relaxation.

Tom scored 5 / 5 on 26/06/2017

My wife and 2 kids recently stayed there on a 3 night stay. We found the staff to be very friendly and welcoming. The food was also to our satisfaction. Its location was very central to may of the attractions in the area; such as the Cliffs of Moher and Bunratty.

Mary scored 5 / 5 on 25/06/2017

Lovely hotel, comfortable beds an spacious enough room. Evening dinner special (3 courses) was goo value for money. Plenty choices for a hearty and tasty breakfast. Staff quite friendly and helpful. Easy to get to and delighted that it was out of the town proper. Would be happy to go back - good value. Thank you everyone. Mary and family

Tn scored 3 / 5 on 13/06/2017

Recently stayed here for two nights. The hotel itself was nice. Would I rate it as 4 star, don't think so. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The pool area was nice. Separate kids pool was great for the younger children. The bedroom was ok, spacious enough for a family room but nothing you wouldn't get in a 3 star hotel. The hotel menu wasn't great. Bar menu was way overpriced. Had to return food as chicken was still pink and chips were freezing. Hotel is about 10mins from Ennis and no other restaurants/bars in area so unless you're willing to travel out you are stuck for choice for food.

Ciaran scored 1 / 5 on 07/06/2017

BOOKING FIASCO I received my booking confirmation text on 23 March2017 from Lidl-Breaks for a one night stay in a twin room on 4 June2017. At check-in I was told there was no record of this booking and they had only one room left at €129. When I showed my text confirmation it was eventually agreed to honour the Lidl price. However we were given a family room on the ground floor opposite the spa storage area. Not a very satisfactory start to a reunion with other family members who were also staying in Woodstock.

Anne scored 5 / 5 on 13/12/2016

We had an excellent experience in the Woodstock hotel combining it with a visit to see Santa at the Ailwee Caves. It was two families and everyone from reception to the Pool to the Bar where we ate were super friendly. Breakfast was lovely and the children were very excited with the all you can eat buffet. I am trying to be healthy and there certainly was something for everyone. We felt it was good value for the money spent and will definitley be coming back for another stay. The Decorations for Christmas were also excellent,

Warm friendly staff, lovely bedroom with great food at a reasonable price... Great facilities for family holidays...

Loulou scored 3 / 5 on 14/09/2016

We stayed here for 2 nights. The breakfast was very disappointing, orange juice wasn't real orange juice and cooked buffet breakfast was just ok, the coffee was like tar. We are in our mid 30's and we were the youngest. Hotel bar and foyer were a little chilly. Our room was nice and big but the carpet was worn and furniture dated. Staff were very nice and friendly, good location and hotel has huge potential. We had 3 course dinner one night and it was delicious

lovely hotel in lovely location. Food only beautiful breakfast and dinner and plenty of everything. Staff very nice and friendly. Rooms nice and clean and loads of toiliteries.good music in bar.one guy and he had everyone up dancing. I'd recommend this hotel. Not within walking distance of town.the bunker bar do a lovely pint and they even have coors on draught. Shane the bar man ,nice fella. Didn't use leisure centre so can't comment on it.for a chilled out relaxing break give this hotel a try.

Macker scored 2 / 5 on 08/06/2016

Definitely not a 4 star hotel. Rooms were fine as was breakfast. Dinner was pretty bad and service was dreadful at dinner. Sides for our meals were brought out as we were finishing up our meal. Kids icecreams had completely melted when they were brought to the table, they ran our of vanilla icecream and chocolate sauce so one kid got different flavour icecream than all the rest and was very upset. Kids meals were ridiculously expensive at 12euro and no price was on the menu, so we got an awful shock when we were charged 112 euro for 5 kids meals and 2 bottles of the house wine (adults meals were included in the package). The whole hotel could do with an upgrade. Will not be returning

M scored 4 / 5 on 24/05/2016

We had a great stay in the Woodstock hotel. Before we arrived I had checked out the hotel on trip adviser, I saw some photos of one of the rooms, they were not good. I was worried about this as I was bringing some friends from Canada with me, But I was pleasantly surprised as the hotel was really nice. The rooms were spotless, and all the staff were very friendly. The food was very good. I would recommend this hotel. Also my friends said they would tell their friends about it. we are looking forward to returning in the future.

Donal scored 3 / 5 on 20/05/2016

It would have been a lovely weekend apart from the local at the bar who repeatedly interupted my families weekend. We had to plan our weekend around him it was stressful.Upon arriving i had to show my emails as to be not over charged having repeatedly told the gentleman at the desk the room price. The breakfast was great the inclusive meal was fine the staff in the resturaunt were very attentive all in all it was fine

Just returned from a great stay at the Hotel Woodstock. We were a large party who gathered there for a family celebration. The staff were extremely friendly and efficient, breakfast was nice and both the food and atmosphere in the bar were great. The children loved the pool. Would definitely recommend it and look forward to our return.

Hi while we really enjoyed our stay at the Woodstock Hotel we would like to point out that all the bread that was left in the large basket for making toast at the breakfast buffet was mouldy! W e did point this out and the basket was taken away but at this stage most people had already eaten. They could check on their housekeeping staff as we had to go looking for loo rolls for our room and all clothes were left on floor after they made beds. Cannot fault leisure facilities, spotless clean and staff their very nice.

Nice hotel with Good staff. Nice leisure centre. . Hotel needs to be upgraded to a 4 star though in parts. More like a 3 Star but great potential to be stunning .

My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay in the Woodstock. It was most convenient for Ennis itself and visiting the Burren and the Cliffs of Moher. Friendly helpful staff, lovely wholesome food and a nice leisure centre to boot!

Nice relaxing hotel.Room very clean, staff nice and thanks for the Easter egg they gave my son when leaving .Lovely to see open fire in lobby. Just a note on the area out side golf shop was litter with cigarette butts could do with some attention, but over all very good. Ann from Waterford March 2016.

June scored 4 / 5 on 22/03/2016

Hotel is very nice with clean, spacious rooms. Dinner was very good as was breakfast. It was a very good rate and good value because we only booked a few hours before checking in. Only disappointment for me was the steam room was not working which I was looking forward to as I'm recovering from a chest infection and was looking forward to a bit of steaming! One other problem is we did find it difficult to find the hotel so more signs on approach to Ennis would be helpful.

Nicest staff I have ever encountered. Dinner was good and the newly opened pool was very nice. Only complaint was breakfast which had tasteless orange juice and rubbery pancakes. Would definitely recommend it as a great gateway to the Burren and surrounding area.

Lovely hotel . From the moment we arrived we were meet with wonderful hospitality from all the staff and the manager john was always there to help. The food was of a very high standard . I played the golf course also and it was in very good condition for the time of year . The greens were some of the best I have played all year . We are hoping to have our society weekend away here this year . All in all I would highly recommended this hotel and golf course.

Really nice hotel just outside Ennis town centre. A bit of a spin to the costal towns but didn't mind that as we planned to visit a few of them over the weekend.plus we had our own transport. Hotel was spotless. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was top notch and the restaurant food was lovely. I was a bit surprised when they charged 3 euro for a small glass of coke. Overall we had a great time here.

Beautiful reception. Rooms comfortable and clean. However, deceiving. Service poor and slow. Breakfast on both mornings was freezing cold and when staff were advised of this, our complaint was ignored. Cappucinos on both mornings arrived 40 mins after ordering same. Presented with coffee spilling down onto saucer. Staff advised us they were short staffed and still getting used to coffee machine. Very disappointed with our 4 star stay. Manager was no where to be seen after complaining. 2 star.

Just back from a family weekend in The Woodstock , 11 month old in tow. We have stayed her a number of times before and enjoyed it every single time. Staff are friendly, hotel is spotless & homely, and food is fab! The lobby looks fantastic especially this time of year. Big open fire and really comfy couches. We'll be back.

The staff were lovely, the food in the bar excellent, the lady musician had a great variety of music and not too loud! The leisure centre was very clean and good facilities. I loved the spacious lobby and the Christmas decorations are very nice. Thanks to all.

Unfortunately I didn't get to stay in the Woodstock Hotel as originally booked but was transferred to the Temple Gate Hotel in the town centre which was lovely. I was at a function in the Woodstock Hotel on Saturday 8th Sept and has a gorgeous meal there. Staff were excellent. Lovely setting for a hotel. Had difficulty finding the hotel as its not very well sign posted.

Sandra scored 2 / 5 on 05/09/2012

We stayed for the two nights B&B and 1 dinner inclusive deal during the week and it was very disappointing! The hotel is very outdated, probably was a four star hotel about 10 years ago and definitely requires redecoration if they intend to attract returning customers. The (included) evening meal was of bad quality and the waiter or the chefs did not take any cognisance of any food intolerances (even made funny jokes about it to my partner!). The end result was that I went to bed hungry and my partner didnt even want to stay for another day. But we did, as we had already paid....and thankfully, the duty manager (Sean) handled the dinner the next evening after my partner informed him about the first dinner experience. Also be careful when you take a shower - one morning, I got burnt twice when somebody in the next room run tab water, as it took the cold water away from my shower!! Also dont assume that you will get a double bed, as it consists of two uncomfortable single beds pushed together....and the bed linen was stained. After the first bad impressions, we never bothered trying the spa facilities...maybe that would have made the stay worthwhile??? We will definitely NOT be back!!

Stayed here at the weekend 18th May 2012...had wonderful time...staff were so friendly and helpful...the hotel is fabulous and only a short distance to Ennis town. The Hotel provided a courtesy bus for us and even collected us from the town at 2.00am. At one stage the courtesy bus was not available and they ordered a taxi for us free of charge...unbelievable! The rooms were lovely and we all got rooms overlooking the golf course. The golf, swimming pools, food and entertainment were all great. We went with two other couples and we all said we would highly recommend this Hotel. Well done and thank you to all at the Woodstock Hotel...see you again. Marion Carter.

Micheál scored 2 / 5 on 14/05/2012

Had an okay stay at the Woodstock Hotel. I should emphasise "ok" not brilliant not great. It is no where near a 4 star hotel. I wonder how they got that rating. The lobby smells like a swimming pool, the odour of chlorine permeates the lobby from the adjacent pool. I found this very strange, I suppose there are worse odours, but still strange. I hated the design of the hotel. The architect should be shot. The views of the golf course (the hotels finest feature) were under utilised. The hotel bar is strange as it is dark and gloomy and lacks character. The hotel is quite shabby and drab. Needs a good lick of paint. Curtains dirty, need to be washed...actually dumped. The lobby looks good in images on the website but its is poorly designed, would be more suited to a Mediterranean climate. In fact it had a Med feel to it, fans, paintings of Spanish Flamenco dancers etc. My biggest gripe with the hotel though was staffing. Way under staffed!!!! One Barman trying to serve bar and food at same time. I joked with my girlfriend that he was cooking the food too and that he would be giving her a massage the next day in the spa :) Staff often didn't acknowledge us which is annoying. I got this hotel cheap! So maybe I shouldn't complain. But this hotel is a relic of the Celtic Tiger brainless development from brainless bank capital. I'm pretty sure the hotel is probably operated by nama or a bank now hence its poor state. Won't be back!

Had an excellent bank holiday weekend in Woodstock, friendly staff, fabulous surroundings, amazing parkland golf course with a number of signature holes. The food is top class and as we had two birthday parties, we were accomodated very well with decorations and access to the restaurant in advance of the sit down. The adjoining rooms for the Kids was a blessing and is a rarity now and as we have 3 kids from 13 - 7 we have to have two rooms now. There were 15 in our party altoghether and each one had a great time. There was a small hiccup with the bills at the end of the day but for the prices were were paying top class hotel with top class facilities.

staff were excelent . hotel bar could do with a lic of paint. tables in bar need french poishing funiture all over needs refurbishing. house keeping needs 2 be check up on e.g. dust on lamps in bedrooms , not enough toiletries. i would rate this hotel as a 3star.

We've rated this hotel a 3 star rating, solely, that the rooms need to be updated. Apart from that we cannot fault the hotel for anything. We stayed for a 2 night mid-week break and had dinner one of the evenings in the bar. Our food was faultless, i had chicken korma and naan bread, nicest i've tasted for a long time. Very reasonably priced and staff were very helpful and accommodating. It is a hotel i will be recommending and returning to in the near future.

The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The food at breakfast and dinner was great. The hotel was located in an ideal position for all sights of interest in the area. The swimming area was ideal and very much enjoyed by us. On the minus side while the room was cleaned there was no evidence of dusting and the toilet seat was a bit askew. Some of the chairs in the hotel bar were in need of being resprung. However these are very minior faults in what was a very enjoyable stay. ****

Spent a pleasant 2 nights here. Staff very friendly and helpful. Good food, both restaurant and bar. Would definitely return and also tell friends about it. Nice to see all facilities available in leisure centre.

Geri scored 2 / 5 on 23/06/2011

Stayed in hotel for one night. Hotel could do with a bit of refurbishment. Bar seating in need of changing. Bedroom furniture was dusty and quilt on bed was torn. Also a sign is needed outside the hotel on the roadway, it was just by chance that we came on the entrance. On the upside, food was excellent and staff were very friendly in both the restaurant and reception areas. Pool was very clean and well maintained.

We really enjoyed our stay, the staff were really helpful and friendly, the food was excellent, the room clean and comfortable, what more can I say, well done Woodstock.

Well done Lidl, great value for money as for the Woodstock, Id give it a full five stars! The staff, hotel rooms and food is excellent. The reception and waiting staff couldnt be nicer and give a very personal touch. The rooms were very spacious and accomdated us with a cot bed for our young baby. The breakfast was cooked to order which is a nice change from other hotels which has food being creamated under the grills. The only quibbles I have and they are small is that it was hard enough to find, directions to the hotel on the site were not much use and the showers were a bit cold for my liking. Did get to check out the pool as our stay was short but we will be back for certain!!!

Yuliana scored 2 / 5 on 25/05/2011

The food was gorgeous!! Staff was very friendly. However, the room let down overall staying. There was problem with shower, first night we had only cold water and after fixing following day it was only extremely hot water. I dont think the room was up to 4 star. There were stain marks on carpet and second bed wasnt made. it looked awful. I think I will come back for food, but I wont staying over.

Karina scored 4 / 5 on 10/05/2011

Great hotel. Clean and fresh. Bedrooms a bit dated but excellent food and staff more than compensated. A very friendly place to stay. Would highly recommend it

Molly scored 4 / 5 on 03/05/2011

Service was wonderful, the food was very filling and for a reasonable price. The staff were very approachable and made every effort to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. The only criticism was that all of our drawers were broken in the room and the hairdryer wouldn't stay on if you let go of the button. Overall, however, we were very happy with our stay.

WE stayed two nights the 21st and 22nd of March. We found the staff very warm friendly and helpfull. On our first day when we arrived, our room smelled strongly of smoke. We told the girl at reception and she had us moved to another room. Regarding the hotel, I think it could do with a bit of doing up. We coulldnt regulate the shower on the second day. It was boiling hot . The room was fine. The breakfasts were a bit to greasy and salty. The dinners were lovely. I enjoyed the swimming pool The foyer was very relaxing to sit and relax and read. Another thing I wasnt happy with was there was no walk around the grounds of the hotel as it has the golf course. Overall it was good value for money I would give it 3 stars

Brenda scored 5 / 5 on 23/03/2011

Friendly, helpful staff, great value for money. We stayed in December during the awful snow and ice........our room was lovely, warm and comfortable. We had a wonderful meal and some great entertainment on the Friday (a singer called Marie - I think). We would recommend a stay here, we will definately be returning in the future

Liz scored 4 / 5 on 04/01/2011

We booked into the hotel for 4 nights from the 28th of December 2010, along with another couple. On arrival we were greeted by a lovely fire burning in reception, which we quickly took up seating around and enjoyed a lovely couple of afternoon drinks. All of the staff were a great help and so so friendly even though they were dealing with a major water issue because of the weather. Yes the rooms look a little tired and could do with a bit of a face lift. But honestly it did not impact on our stay. We were on B&B Plus dinner every night, I have to commend the restaurant the food, more 5 star that 4 star and a great selection even though we were on a special menu. Good selection for Breakfast as well and your hot food was cooked to order - so no semi cold buffet... Pool and spa area were lovely and really liked the candles.. Nice Touch... Would have to say that we all enjoyed our stay, so much so that we booked in for an extra night so 5 nights in all. Over all a lovely stay and would recommend this hotel.... We will be back....

Had a wonderful time at the woodstock hotel, staff and facilties were great. The only problem I had was the toilet, the cleaning staff did a great job on cleaning the rooms but the tolilet basin was stained and all it needs is some bleach, or new loos, otherwise hotel is fab.

Vincent scored 5 / 5 on 06/08/2010

Rate as 4 star. Meals - breakfast and dinner were of good quality and well presented. They could however use a duster on the woodwork on stairways and landings and also on the window leadge ( over looking the golf course) of the dining room window. There was a number of dead flys on it and they would have been there for some days. But we would go again and was good value. Staff were all very pleasent. Vincent A Farrell.

Our stay in the Woodstock Hotel was a very pleasant one. The staff were friendly and helpful, the food was good and the pool was a great place to unwind. The hotel is a little distance outside Ennis and the courtesy car brought us into Ennis. Breakfast was serviced until elven. Overall the break was excellent value for money.

The hotel was good with good facilities. The bar food was particularly good. A nice location - out a little from Ennis it's ideal for a de-stress break and as a base to tour the area. The Lidl breaks represent real value and great choice. PM Cork

Hotel - very frendly staff Bar - great food especially the indian menu Room - ok, not as clean as i would expect, but not the worst i have seen, inside drawers needed a good dusting - if you were going to unpack, the main bed was fine, the kids bed (the fold out couch) was very uncomfortable. The shower temperature control did not work correctly - it only provided hot water Pool - very good No kids club Overall - Good (only down fall was the room)

Ted scored 3 / 5 on 19/07/2010

Very friendly and helpful staff. Golf course excellent. Spa treatments only ok. Food lovely. service excellent. Draft Beer not great - maybe too much detergent. Rooms very good and very clean. extras in rooms for kids - spot on. Overall a very enjoyable break and certainly would do again. Many thanks to all concerned. Terrific value for money

Anne scored 3 / 5 on 13/07/2010

The hotel needs to invest a little to bring it back to what was probably a v.good hotel. The staff were all very nice but somewhat unfocused or insufficently trained at dinner but were better at the far busier breakfast. The food was good and we enjoyed the Indian selection which was different. The price was excellent with the lidl deal.

Una scored 5 / 5 on 13/07/2010

this hotel is a disgrace and should in no way be on your list or get a 4 star rating. We ended up not staying in the hotel. The carpets in the bedroom were terrible and the smell of the room was unreal. I went down to ask for my room to be changed which they did do but only to be given another dirty room again. Please remove this hotel from your list. We did 3 hotel breaks on the deal which we thought were great value for money but not this hotel the other 2 were perfect. I have since checked reviews of this hotel on trip advisor and people have made the same comments regarding how dirty the hotel is.

Teresa scored 4 / 5 on 07/07/2010

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Woodstock Hotel Golf and Spa Resort. The food was excellent. Lots of different tastes catered for ie Asian Cusine as well as the option of choosing more traditional dishes. The grounds of the hotel were lovely. The beds were very comfortable. My room was located on the first floor, which I did find a little noisy to be honest. Leisure facilities were also great. Booked my weekend break via Lidl-Break's website. Excellent Value!Keep up the good work!

Caroline scored 3 / 5 on 06/07/2010

We enjoyed our stay in Woodstock Hotel, our room was a little dissappointing, it was very dated and stains on carpet- maybe we were just unlucky as the rest of the hotel was lovely. The lobby is fabulous, food in the restaurant delicious and Leisure Centre lovely. Staff in the hotel were very friendly. I would definitely recommend Lidl breaks - very good value for money!!

Niamh scored 5 / 5 on 05/07/2010

Hi, Reception is a nice as the pictures on the website, no other pictures are accurate! We asked to be moved as bedroom as the carpet was sticky and the room felt dirty. There was a very big burn stain on the coffee table that looked like someone put a boiling rugby ball on it! I have never asked to be moved before and the people in reception were not at all happy with my complaints. The bar food was nice - portions huge and good value. The bar man here was lovely but was rushed off his feet. Breakfast was a disaster - the coffee was cold and we had to ask for a hot pot of coffee and even then the waiter did not believe us that it was cold. I had to try 3 different glasses to get a clean one! Food was not nice and the service was shoddy. I would not recommend this hotel and have contact Great National Hotesl to determine how they award their stars as this is defintitely not a 4* hotel - 2.5* or 3* at best. I have staying in lots of hotels and although the price was good the hotel was not! I would not recommend this hotel Niamh

Found it difficult to find ... the turn off was not very clearly marked ... more turn off signage from the main road would be advised. The hotel, the setting and food were all very nice as was the customer service. Were disappointed that we had made accomodations with freinds and that our freinds were not able to stay. They had called ahead but when they arrived, were told they didn't have the adjoining rooms they needed, they were booked up, and that it may have been a problem booking through Lidl-Breaks. The hotel did reimburse another stay at a later date for them, but it did cut our visiting time very short as we were there from the US to visit our friends that lived in Ireland. I'm sorry we didn't get to used thier pool area ... it looked beautiful. Ennis had a wonderful little town street sale going on we were also sorry we didn't get the time for. We would come back.

We stayed for a 1 night break - staff were very friendly and food was lovely but the room was very disappointing. There was stains on the carpet and on the bed quilt. When we asked for a change of room, we were told that some parts of the hotel need updating and that they were full that weekend. The general atmosphere of the hotel was relaxed and asides from the condition of the room, it would be a perfect place to go and relax for the weekend.
