Area Description : Bantry sits at the head of Bantry Bay on the main N71 road between Cork and Kenmare and Killarney. The area is steeped in history and fantastic scenery from Sherkin Island across Roaring Water Bay, to the famous landmark of Mizen Head around Dunmanus Bay and across the peninsula. This now proudly shows off The Sheep's Head Way, one of the best walks in Ireland, to Bantry Bay. .18th century Bantry House and Gardens are a major tourist attraction, bringing visitors from far and wide. This is considered one of the great houses of Ireland and in the courtyard is the French Armada Exhibition Centre. Bantry is ideal for touring the region, exploring the beautiful bays and beaches, spectacular hills and welcoming, cosy hostelries.

Hotel was lovely bar one thing , we were given a room with faulty toilet pipes that kept us awake at night that led us to complain in the end. Staff member was accommodating but still think we should of been giving something else as compensation

Lovely hotel ,great staff and good food. The leisure centre is good and very clean . The late check in @ 4-00 and early check out @ 11-30 isn’t great when people have travelled long distances for a breakaway.

Got a beautiful room over looking the bay and it had a balcony, food was outstanding the breakfast which was well spaced out, our evening meal was outstanding Mary served us very good at her job, there was a separate bar on level 1 for residents which again felt spaced out which we felt very safe, lovely staff at reception, bar and restaurant we will return

Went to Bantry for staycation and stayed in Maritime Hotel. Very efficiently-run hotel with friendly and helpful management and staff. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this hotel and were lucky with beautiful weather to enjoy the countryside around Bantry. Food was fabulous and will definitely return to Maritime at some time in the future.
Staff were very efficient and welcoming, bar staff were excellent and very mindful of social distance and catered for meals in a very professional way. We were upgraded to a suit, which was much appreciated and made our stay extra special, we had stayed there few times before and hope to visit again thanks to Irish mini breaks.
We had a really lovely stay here. The view from the room was beautiful. The food in the restaurant was yummy and the staff were really nice and helpful. Will definitely be back again.

Lovely hotel overlooking Bantry Bay and in comfortable walking distance to all of Bantry's amenities. Fabulous room and gorgeous breakfast. We also enjoyed use of the leisure centre and pool with heated steam room, sauna and Jacuzzi. Will be back!
Stayed overnight last Saturday night. Very pleasant stay ( if a little confused finding out room.) Pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room great to use in the afternoon and the bar food was good value. Well worth a visit and the Lidl-break deal was great value.
Great hotel. Lovely room, views & location. All staff were friendly and helpful - service with a smile down to a fine art. Restaurant food was excellent with lots of choice for non meat eaters. We were delighted we'd booked an option including meals. Have already recommended to family & friends and look forward to going back again sometime soon.

I recently stayed in the Maritime hotel with my dad.The room we got was an upgrade and overlooking the sea.The hotel receptionist Ailish was so professional from start to finish.She was so polite and couldn't do enough for my dad.Anna in the breakfast room was lovely and was running the show .The food was fabulous and the set dinner on the package was gorguous .The deal was fantastic value for money .Also thanks to Mike the duty manager.Enjoy,Pat
Hotel was great, staff very friendly, particularly Aileen in the restaurant. The restaurant was able to accommodate our late arrival on Friday night. Breakfast was fantastic, loads of selection. Our room was nice and quiet, bed was very comfy. Our only minor complaint was that the room did not overlook the water. Would definitely recommend to others.

Stayed here with my husband recently. Requested Sea View and birthday celebration. Staff could not be nicer from reception and dining room. They upgraded our room and left birthday card and strawberries in our room. We really had a lovely break and will definitely be returning. The food and service was excellent.

Stayed in the Maritime Hotel in Bantry for my wedding anniversary and must say it was beautiful. The staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough for us. They even left a card in our room congratulating us on our anniversary, a very nice touch. The room was beautifully decorated, very comfortable with plenty of space and had every convenience we could need. We had a lovely meal in the Restaurant and a few welcome drinks in the bar. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel for either a romantic getaway or with kids as the pool is fabulous. It is also so convenient to the town of Bantry where you can take a little wander around the cafe's and shops or go to the pictures if you so wish. Unfortunately we had to leave early as one of our children got sick but we will definitely be returning to enjoy the delights of Bantry again soon. This is a fabolous hotel, the staff are all amazing and so attentive. The room was beautiful big with a lovely bathroom. The bar area is very nice and with a lovely view of Bantry bay. The food was also really fabolous I cant write enough about this hotel.
Enjoyed our stay at the Maritime Hotel,,Friendly Staff,Nice Room.We didn't Eat in the restaurant on the night of our arrival.,But we were very disappointed when we went for the included Breakfast on our package the restaurant was fully seated so we stayed in the lobby for a table for two but to no avail.,there was about ten people awaiting seat's for breakfast.we finally got enough of waiting and collected our bags and checked out.,they really have to improve on ta seating for breakfast.Overall very disappointed.

Kevin Barry My wife and I stayed at the Maritime on August 11th, 2013 and had a great time. The room was spacious and clean with a lovely sea view. The staff were friendly and courteous and the food was delicious. We enjoyed a delicious evening meal (after a refreshing swim in the hotel pool) and buffet breakfast the following morning with the extra specials on offer. Would recommend this hotel to a friend!
First impressions of the hotel weren't very good from the outside. It could do with being re-painted. But apart from that we didn't find any faults. Service was good. Friendly helpful staff. The bedroom was a good size, nice decor, good sized bathroom, lovely shower. Breakfast was also very good. Nice swimmimg pool and kiddies pool. And the aromatherapy massage was really good.

Excellent hotel in a great location. The breakfast was great on both mornings. They had a list of specials every morning, which was a really nice touch. The pool was really relaxing and spotless clean. We ate in the restuarant on the Saturday night and the food was perfect. The music in the bar on the Saturday night was just right - not too noisy !!! The hotel rooms are spotless clean and well equiped. The staff were friendly and really helpful with directions at the front desk. The hotel is only a 30 minute drive from the beautiful Mizen head, Skull and Crookhaven. Well worth a trip to the Maritime !!!
We Stayed for one night with dinner in the Maritime and it was fantastic. The meal was brill which we didn't really expect it to be for the price we paid. The room was a twin and really lovely. Breakfast was lovely and even though it was a buffet the lovely restaurant manageress asked us if we would like the specials or ham and cheese etc fab. Staff were really friendly and nice. It should be a five star. Looking forward to staying again.

We have stayed here a number and it never fails to disappoint. The rooms are very nice, the leisure cnetre is fantastic and the food is always delicious. The staff are always to help and have great suggestions as to what to do in the town andwhere to go at night. there are many walks and things to in the surrounding area.

Great location, perfect food, very friendly staff. I made mistake when booking - booked for 1 night starting on Friday but actually meant to arrive on Saturday - mixed up the dates - 100% my mistake - got the phone call on Saturday morning and was asked why didn't we arrive on Friday - nearly had a heart attack - we would have gone there not realizing that the room was booked for the night before. The receptionst told me that we could come anyway at no extra cost - all you'd want to hear but you couldn't complain being told that you have to pay again - so it was purely good wil and understandig - I wish all hotels were like this - Thanks again. Regardless my particular situation I'd recommend The Maritime to anyone and will definitely be back.

My husband and I stayed in this gorgeous hotel the weekend. From the moment we checked in we were greeted by a lovely girl on reception, the rooms are gorgeous, from the staff to the food everything was perfect and such great value. This was our second time to stay at the hotel and as usual had a great stay we booked a two night stay with dinner on one night.rooms are excellent and the staff are very friendly .no complaints on the food which was good in both bar and diner .the hotel is in a great location as you can walk to the town where there are numerous bars annd things to do .overall I would give the maritime 9 out of 10 as my wife and I had a great time there and look forward to our next trip .george Jackson

Enjoyed our stay at the Maritime Checkin went well Room clean and warm though the windows did rattle a fair bit with the wind but it added to the atmosphere Went for a swim and a steam which we really enjoyed Booked our meal for 8pm which was included in our package The restaurant was busy but not overly so We ordered a bottle of wine and twice the waitress told us she had to go downstairs to get it which would take her a couple of minutes Our starter came and it was good Eventually the wine came with the main course and was literally "plonked" on the table We called another waitress and asked could we have a wine cooler We were informed that they had only one and someone else was using it Unacceptable when paying for a decent bottle of wine for it to be served in such a way Other than that our main course was good We spent the night in the bar which had good entertainment and a nice atmosphere We slept well Breakfast the following morning was good with I must say pleasant efficient staff Overall a good break
We have stayed in Maritime Hotel for 1 night during Xmas break. Rooms were very nice, bed large and comfortable. Hotel has facilities like pool, gym, spa, bar and restaurant. Bar food was only ok, I had to send back bbq chicken wings because hey were covered in hard bread crumbs and uneatable. Pool was very nice, unusual design, long and wide. There were 2 saunas and jacuzzi. Pool area lacked chairs or any sort of sitting. Spa was only ok, placed far away from the pool. It did not have any relaxation area. Also there were no robes or slippers so to go back to the pool area we had to get dressed again. My facial was of very poor quality but massage was good. Hotel location is good with few restaurants and cinema within few minutes walk. We did not use hotel restaurant instead went to The Brick Oven nearby which was very nice and reasonable.
stayed two nights b&b 1 evening meal beginning of november. Stay was brilliant, staff friendly and went out of their way to help. Food for the deal was superb and breakfast excellent, bar very friendly staff chatty and polite, although not has warm as cold weekend and needed a bit more heat. would recommend this hotel to all ages.

Spent last Saturday night there. I was very impressed with the service and quality of the rooms. One of our party had broken her foot and it was great to get use of a wheelchair during our stay. We had a lovely stay at this hotel. The staff were all very friendly, the bedrooms were very comfortable and we had a lovely dinner in the restaurant. I will definitely stay here again. The whole area is very scenic and well worth a visit.
We recently stayed in the Maritime hotel in Bantry. We had booked 2 twin rooms for a girlie night away but when one couldn't make it we checked with the hotel on arrival if we could swap to a triple room instead. The hotel was very accomadating and moved us to a one bedroom suite with a lovely balcony and views over the bay. We used the pool and jacuzzi which was lovely. The rooms had everything we needed ... even a fridge to keep the champagne cool :-) As part of our package we had dinner included which was gorgeous. There was then live music in the bar which was fab. The breakfast the following morning was excellent and was followed by a lovely walk around bantry which was much needed after all the food. The rooms and corridors were well kept and all staff were lovely and friendly. All in all we had a great time in the Maritime. Thanks to all the staff.

Stayed in the Maritime Hotel for the Easter Bank Holiday week-end (3 nights). Found all the staff very friendly and helpful. Room was lovely. Breakfast was very good. Dinner menu changed slightly each evening, but the choice of starters could have been better (only one hot starter - soup). However, overall, I wouldn't fault the food and I most certainly would stay at the hotel again and would recommend it highly. Would also recommend the Spa treatments - both my husband and I availed of massages which were very good. Spa staff also were very friendly and good at their job.

Very nice location and good service. However the evening meal I felt wasn't great. But then again I'm vegaterian so I only had one choice. A dish I would never normally go for with too much cheese and very stodgy.The portions were massive! I really could only eat a third of my plate.The staff were lovely and breakfast was super. The movie service in the room is a great idea and an excellent choice of wine.

It was my 1st time staying at the martime hotel and it wont be my last! was absolutely amazing the hotel was a 4 star rating, bedrooms were fab we booked a double room which was spot on luxury and all photos on the site are exactly the way it is! food was gorgeous, staff were lovely. It made our valentines nite a memorable one!
Stayed here with my husband for three days from Feb 11th to the 14th. Room very nice, very clean and very comfortable. Staff excellent and efficient. Breakfast lovely and choices offered. Parking was free but the entrance to the car park a bit odd and the blue hoarding spoiled the view from the hotel. If this was cleaned up and rectified I would have no hesitation in giving five stars. I would recommend this hotel and I would stay again. Bantry is a lovely place and the people were very friendly. Our 2nd visit to this lovely hotel. First time on lidl break which was outstanding value. The food, service and accomodation were excellent. Thank you we had a great time.
We stayed in The Maratime Hotel on the 1st feb 2012 for two nights, the Hotel was absotuley beautiful, Staff very cortious and friendly,Breakfast was lovely and presentation was excellent. The two gentlemen at the reception at the pool were outstanding and jolly. I would certainly recommend this hotel, and thank you Lidil for an affordable break. Had a super night away Booked B&B&evening dinner Went to leisure center when we arrived and it was a great start we were so relaxed afterwards Went for a drink in the bar before dinner and there was a great buzz there we'd have stayed only we were famished Went for dinner which was gorgeous The staff were extemely nice and welcoming all round Could have done with a heater in the bathroom as it was on the chilly side Not our first time visiting Hope to do it again before too long
Fantastic value for money The rooms were of a very high standard Found it hard to cotrol the heating though There were eight of us for dinner and it was brilliant The food was of a high standard and the service was efficient and friendly and we enjoyed it so much We spent our night in the bar afterwards and the entertainment and craic were super Went on a recommendation and will return Thanks
gr8 night away room good if a bit on the cold side especially the bathroom Food was top class Staff were excellent all round from reception to leisure center to restaurant to the bar Couldn't fault the service Went to bed eventually about three This was our first time staying but wont be our last
This was absolutely fabulous value for money! The hotel was really lovely and right in the middle of everything in Bantry. The staff could not have been more friendly and nothing was too much bother for them. The pool and leisure centre are state of the art and again the staff were wonderful there too. The evening meal which was included in the price was to die for and there was even music in the bar afterwards. Just when we thought it could not get any better the breakfast surpassed all expectations. Anything you wanted to eat was there and as much of it as you could eat. I would highlky recommend this hotel and I cant wait for the next excuse to visit!

Enjoyed the stay. Nice hotel and nice staff, food was good (found the supplement on the steak a little too prices at €6.50 extra). Rooms were clean well laid out and had bottled water , tea/coffee making facilities and ironing board. Bathroom was very nice only thing was the bath towels were a little on the small size ( and I ain't overweight). But really nice spot and I would definitely stay there again. P.S. Found a lovely pub up the road called The Anchor. Lovely Guinness, warm fire and friendly .
Great view from our room. Menus for both breakfast and evening meal were a bit different from the norm - in a good way. The swimming pool was nice. We really enjoyed our stay.

Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Hotel just super, interior dark but atmospheric. Breakfast super. Dinner - we were a bit disappointed with the main courses = the lamb chops were very tough and the fish was very dry. Leisure centre good.

Our recent stay in the Maritime hotel was fantastic from start to finish. The staff are excellent and very friendly, any requests were immediately dealt with. We used the spa and the leisure centre, both were fantastic. The food is divine, the rooms are fabulous and the facilities are all round brilliant. We had a great stay at the Maritime Hotel, The rooms were lovely, The staff were great. We had a really good meal. We had upgraded to a suite and it was beautiful. I would recommend the hotel to anyone, there was a great atmosphere there and very good entertainment in the bar on Saturday night.
Stayed in the Maritime in March. The staff were so very helpful and friendly. Our meal in the restaurant was just fantastic. The only fault i would have is the way the hotel is laid out. Definitely will stay there again
brill hotel, gorgeous and relaxing with free car park. staff are lovely - food is fab but the two towers and seperate lifts gets annoying.

The room and hotel itself were really lovely! However the food and service really let the hotel down. We were waiting way too long for surprisingly ordinary food, and any requests e.g. for butter, had to be repeated. This is disappointing. Even at value prices. Are the staff inexperienced or were too few staff on duty? Not sure I could recommend at current service levels. Regards.

Lovely Hotel, didn't have evening meal there but breakfast was lovely & as much food as you wanted. Reception & breakfast staff were very friendly & helpful. The Lidl breaks are fantastic value.

Had a great stay. No complaints what so ever. Hotel very clean, food was delicious. Also a convenient base for touring the Beara Peninsula! Tremendous value for money.

Excellent Hotel, staff friendly and helpful. Hotel decorated beautifully, food fantastic. Bantry was a lovely town I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.
The hotel was fantastic from the staff to the food. We could fault nothing.If i was to say something against the hotel it was the road noise.The hotel gave me an upgrade to a suite and while this was great the noise from the road underneath was loud. However this would not stop me staying there again.
This was a fabulous hotel to stay in, the breakfast and dinner was lovely with a good variety to choose from, the staff were very friendly and so helpful and the room size was ideal. I will definately come back here again as it was brilliant value for money with Lidl deals.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the beautiful Maritime Hotel. I must say this hotel is fantastic, the service at reception was fantastic, the room was absolutely goregous (and huge in size, only of the nicest rooms I've ever stayed in!!), leisure facilities were brilliant and the food & service in the restaurant was fabulous! I must say that the lidl break offer is extremely good value for money and I will most certainly be using it again in the future!! Again thank you to the Maritime Hotel for the fantastic break!! Loved it and will definately be recommending both the Maritime Hotel & Lidl break offers to my friends!!
Definitely 5/5. We spent the first night of our honeymoon at The Maritime. It was absolutely fantastic. Staff were very curteous and efficent. The room was top notch, we were very impressed with the Internet facility operated through the TV. The food was excellent, my husband would highly reccommend the eggs benedict for breakfast !! Lidl breaks are great value for money and we will definitely avail of the offers again.
We had a great time at the Maritime in Bantry. The food was excellent as was the room. We would definitely stay there again.
Firstly i m not kocking the Hotel but just pointing out a few comments that can be improved.When we arrived the guy at the desk didn't greet us just saying im not sure how to check you in ,can you just wait for someone to come who can check in.When she came eventually she smiled and checked us in. We found the room clean and very modern and very fresh,When we arrived for evening meal a guy showed us to our table and didnt speak.For the Starter dont try the smoked chicken with fetta cheese very dissapointed 4 tiny wafer slices of chicken dropped on ordinary lettuce no dressing.Main course was very nice The hake we both had.In the morning we arrived down at 9.30 by then most of the hot food was gone and not stocked up again,and the 2 fried eggs that were left were stone cold,but the rest was tasty.On departure we checked out and the recptionist never asked us did we enjoy our stay or anything else.But beggars cant be choosers and it was a cheap break but wouldnt like to be paying top dollar for what we got anyway.Overall 6/10

Lidl break brill value. Stayed at thr maritime in Bantry on thurs night for %u20AC98 for 2 people including dinner! Could not fault a thing. All the staff lovely. Pool and gym great. Would definitely recommend a stay at thyis hotel 5/5

This was fantastic value for money. The hotel is fabulous, staff were very friendly and heplful and the food was gorgeous. Highly recommend this hotel. I have been to numerous hotels around the country and this is now top of my list. Also Banrty is a lovely quiant town and in a beautiful location.
We booked the 2 night stay for last Monday and Tuesday evening. I had checked other reviews on trip advisor and other such sites before I arrived so I was not too sure what to expect as there had been contrasting views but wow was I impressed. The room was gorgeous, staff friendly and helpful and the food while it was not Michelin star it was perfect comfort food cooked to perfection and all seemed to be home made. We were absolutely thrilled with our stay and will definitely be returning. Some reviews had complained about the entrance to the car park being too tight and it was but come on that is a very very very small complaint. There was one issue with the water that was served at dinner, it came in a bottle to suggest it had been bottled water but it was simply tap water cooled in the fridge but again very very very small complaint- pool and sauna were also perfect! Thank you Lidl and thanks you The Maritime.
The staff in this hotel were exceptionally pleasant and helpful - nothing was too much bother for them. The rooms are just fabulous and very clean. The restaurant was really lovely and great atmosphere - very relaxed. Food was good; and the deserts were devine. The town of Bantry and the bay around it are very charming; and the people of the town are very welcoming. Highly recommend the hotel and the town.
Enjoyed our stay very much, staff in both hotel and leisure centre were very friendly. They gave us a change of room without quibble, even though they were very busy with a wedding. 'Very busy' spoiled our dinner a little, as the staff were overstretched. Lidl breaks do seem to be excellent value for money.
The Maritime hotel is absolutely fabulous, the rooms the food and the staff were 1st class. we will definately be going back there.
Lovely hotel, good leisure centre, friendly staff. Great value for money. Food excellent, but on second night could only book second sitting for dinner which went from 20.30 to 22.45. Very slow indeed. Miriam

We stayed during one of the busiest weekends of the year when the Bay Run was on and it was also a bank holliday weekend. We could not have been more pleased. The staff were very nice, even though we were on a lidl break we were treated the same as if we had paid full whack. We got the most beautiful evening meal and a delicious breakfast the following morning. The room was beautiful overlooking the sea. I couldn't find any thing to critisise during our stay.

We were overwhelmed with our room - sea view and a seperate living room plus a balcony, shame only for one night. Had a few issues with staff at dinner as we are a mixed couple but rest were great. Enjoyed our stay.

lovely hotel, and we got such a great deal! went here on the june bank holiday weekend,really delighted that special offer applied to this weekend. rooms in hotel were fabulous, location in town perfect, and lovely bar. dinner was fine. will definitely consider staying here again!
Enjoyed our weekend break at The Maritime Hotel. Beautiful contemporary hotel, the decor reminds us of the The Ross Hotel in Killarney. Bedrooms are very spacious and well appointed with all the necessary amenities. Luxurious & decadent decor. Top-notch staff, the breakfast & dinner at the hotel restaurant is amazingly good. I've never had soft-shelled crabs until that night and it was delicious! Leisure centre was fab as well. Highly recommended & I would definitely come back here again! Absolutely loved it!
